Re: Engine Designer Demo - OFFICIAL BUGS THREAD

sure i'll do that when i get a chance to play again.

normally when i open the game i don't do anything else, i click the automation icon in my start menu and then i type in my info and either hit enter of click the play button.

that's about it. i'll post a screenshot next time i play and it happens.

i'm running fullscreen 1440x900 playing on windows xp if that makes any difference.

Re: Engine Designer Demo - OFFICIAL BUGS THREAD

Since the recent update I've been having a few graphics problems such as screen tearing. Any suggestions as why this is happening?

Re: Engine Designer Demo - OFFICIAL BUGS THREAD

There is an error with the sequence in the Variable Valves Tab in Engine Designer
None => VVT
VVT => None
VVL => VVT + VVL
VVT+ VVL => VVL

Re: Engine Designer Demo - OFFICIAL BUGS THREAD

It's not an error. When you have got no VVL, you have to choose Valve Timing for yourself. With VVL, Valve timing is fully variable and there's no need to choose it.

Re: Engine Designer Demo - OFFICIAL BUGS THREAD

No way to choose the Vtak point for me in the VVT section. Also no option for a cat in one of the scenarios and I've determined its completely impossible to meet the emissions requirement without one. Even when making way less than the required power level.

In sandbox, the game crashes every time i try to choose intake. No matter what I choose, race intake etc.

You shouldn't chose any point for valve timing if the engine automatically adjust the valve timing. ;)

And the cat thing is because you haven't deselected the default leaded fuel, it doesn't show the "x" at the fuel (this is a known bug) but you can see that it's selected because it's highlighted.

@frz3
I can't replicated this, maybe screenshot would help.

Makes sense for the cat.

But on the VVT there is an obvious step in the dyno graph where the vtec is kicking in yo and there is a box for me with a number that matches it in the head section but no slider to adjust it.

Re: Engine Designer Demo - OFFICIAL BUGS THREAD

One of the dimensions (I think it was width, second one down) varied by a few mm each time I run a test run, even if I ran them repeatedly without changing anything. Is this just random bucking from knocking or a bug? :D

Also, be great to get a master list of reported bugs, preferably catagorised. I really don't want to have to trawl through 10+ pages of forum posts to see if I'm posting a dupe.

Are you talking about VVL (high/low cam) or VVT, makes a big difference.

With VVL you select a low cam and a high cam and it automatically finds the best switch point for the cams (when torque from the low cam is the lower than the high cam).

With VVT it automatically continues to adjust the valve timing through out the rev range and you the player doesn't select anything.

Re: Engine Designer Demo - OFFICIAL BUGS THREAD

the demo crashes upon updating.
sas there is an update, when i press ok it says it will install after i press ok.
after doing so the launcher stops responding.
if i dont update the launcher closes directly.

OS: win 7 64 bit
tried both with and without admin rights.

//edit: i pressed options before the update screen came, options opened and threw errors at me...left them and the game started updating yay...wierd but working :D

Re: Engine Designer Demo - OFFICIAL BUGS THREAD

There was an issue with file permissions on the remote server right after the demo went live that caused everyone's launchers to crash - it should be fixed now
