can i submit 2 turbo cars? one for actual competition, one for the shiz and giggles.
i finally have found the turbo car that is more competitive than the NA on my testing.

Just from a few comments it seems like people are finding NA better. I must be missing something or breaking a rule. I have yet to find a NA car that is better than my turbo. I just can't get the same performance. Its probably me because its not difficult to attach a turbo to something and get it to go fast (especially considering AVUS is mostly just two straight lines). So I've either stumbled into something great or I'm completely oblivious to the obvious.

edit: It's probably the body I'm playing with and the weight.

As for the 1991 rules, they look pretty good to me. Nice and simple, can't ask for more. I don't see anything that I have reason to disagree with, but I will admit I'm just a bit sad to see the PPX still can't run its default engine (a 6L V8) without disqualifying. Not that I think you should up any of the displacements as I understand we are trying minimize potential accidents/incidents and maintain certain safety standards.

As the entries start rolling in, there are now the first turbos and I'll keep this question open until we have the results. If a 1000cc turbo car wins, the 2:1 factor will of course stay.

As to the 6L question.
The C2 class could already be deadly fast .. With larger engines we could get speeds in excess of 450 km/h.

I can easily see that, in testing my 1.0T is getting close to 300 kph.

A small clarification.

As I said a second car per team is allowed. But as both can be in the same category and of the same design, with only minimal changes, the finishing position of the second car goes to the next team.
That means every team can only take the best finishing place.
I think that's fair, there is no problem if you get second thoughts and want to try a different design, but koolkei's cars are too similar, he said he just couldnt decide which setup is better.

^well from what i have been trying so far.

the most important thing here is the aerodynamic of the car first, and the weight of the car comes in a close second.
and then peak power comes 3rd.

but since i didn't know if the competition would be dragged on or not, i made 2 versions, one for the max potential speed run, and the other one is the slower but more durable one

and IMO, turbo becomes more competitive because you can put richer fuel mixture in to squeeze out that extra bit of power (by that i mean almost 50hp extra)

Yes. From what I know know, Turbo and N/A is really a close call. That means the people who said 2:1 were tight
Although its very hard to produce a turbo.

There is no danger my car is not ranked, and only to serves for research, pr and to develop track.

Here is also another outline for 1991

I added a "no mods" rule. They are not prohibited but modded cars are deprecated and will only be run if the creator supplies me with instructions and required files. I dont mind mods pers se, but otherwise it kills the competition.

Since driveability and fuel economy have no role here, my turbo is half a second per lap faster than NA. If you also consider that car will start from 0kmh (mph) only once per race, the difference will be even greater.
I will try and build one more NA engine and if that wont be faster, than I am submitting turbo

91' rules are looking good I think that race intake and exhaust will level out the field

Sure I don't think we have any real idea what's fast on this track so a little push might be good.
