Yeah, I noticed that it was a purely random generated thing after my car that had a reliability of 0 only past 7500rpm. The engine never hit 7500, let alone over it.
The engine designer is able to measure the stress on parts at certain rpms, I don't know if it calculates general engine reliability at every rpm, but I do know that if you change the rpm it does affect the reliability stat.
I know absolutely nothing about computers so I don't know if there is a way to make it work, but it'd be really nice if we did. Like calculate the chance of a component failing at each rpm level.
It's a shame that there's good stuff behind tyre wear and fuel consumption. But crashes and engine failure is random

It is possible to write a system where the chance of engine failure is based on the current RPM. But that would be a drain on performance and it apparently already takes Der Bayer long enough to simulate these races as it is.

If you really want to do it really accurately you would need to simulate it for every tick which is possible. Easy to do with 1 car fast enough but you add in 37 more cars and run the calculation every tick you have problems. It could be written to do a reliability check every 5 ticks and say that if the engine hits x RPM when reliability is 0 it explodes or something.

But then I dont know the inner workings of Der Bayers simulation nor what language he is using so I dont know how feasible it is.

On vacation, and not playing Automation 24/7? .... what a waste of time. ;) ;)

(have made a car for 1965, just need the final restrictions posted for fine tuning)

Thanks!

And wow, I think we have a clear, inarguable favorite in this one. And a lot of mixing up in the field.

...actually, wow, this is hilarious: the only car in the top 8 in this training that was also in the top 8 at Brands Hatch is GenJeFT.

83/84 on tires, only used 14.8 liters of fuel and still hovering at the bottom of the top 10.

Holy crap I thought my car had a bit more speed than that! I'm going to get hammered on this one.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying 2]

My car is being consistently mediocre, which is good, considering all cars above it on the standings didn't. Might be a good track for me to get a little bit higher on the overall chart.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying 2]

I really just want to see my car in the top 8 trump cards for ONE race. That is all. ;)

If I would have managed to pass Pleb in the training, I would have wet myself, however, so that would have been even better!

It's hard to judge how much weight affects things, but for qualifying? I'm pretty sure you'll be in the top eight. :D

Very tight around the 201 sec mark. :)
