Re: The small sports car challenge (Best time 1:12.98 airfie

Well, if OP would be generous enough to consider what I've attempted here for team FF... let's just say the micro car affords room for some ridiculous wide front wheels. Not so much the engine though, this thing has barely the capacity of two Imperial pints!'

But it's also ridiculously light. And small, which means materials for the body are cheap, which means more money to be spent on fancy parts.

As a result, it's fast!

Re: Top15 sports car challenge (1st Strop 1:12.98 airfield)

Revision to the Triton, shaving almost of 1.4s from the previous time, most of which was achieved by tuning the engine and gearbox;

LEADERBOARDS UPDATED

Strop i really like ur fwd design and im pretty sure it can do it in under 1.20.00 but if i let you post a second car as much as I like it i would have to let everyone post a second car and it would just get crazy with revisions of 2 models per person and all that. Thats the only reson I cant allow it in.

That's okay by me, it's just a proof of concept really.

p.s. note: for those who are interested, that FF's official time is 1:15.88. I doubt it is the fastest FF design possible.

Can't seem to get existing car to below around 15.2, so I would like to withdraw the Triton and submit the following instead;

Kudos on a really awesome challenge by the way, I've learned so much about tweaking things for performance due to this, its very handy for general design stuff too!

Re: Top15 sports car challenge (1st Strop 1:12.98 airfield)

Not a submission (I decided I would stick with the front-engine when I started this), but I was curious just how much better a mid-engine body would be.

As it turns out, a lot.

Re: Top15 sports car challenge (1st Strop 1:12.98 airfield)

That's a very odd downforce distribution!

If that's the case I'll tune up my submission and see if I can match/better it so you can keep the front engine :P
