Loving the beta... still wondering what 1.$ mpg is, but it is better than 78 mpg!

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Yeah, cars with a top speed < 50 km/h currently have a fuel economy of 0.0 liters/100 km, I guess that's being converted incorrectly. :)

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

I have a question.
I see a lot of people who have "Naturally Aspirated" written under their name post stuff with more than demo content on here. Did you unlock it somehow, or did you preorder?

Naturally Aspirated = $25 version of Automation = preorder that gets access to all features currently available.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

I still cannot play the game at all. I have totally removed all Automation files from my computer including those in My Documents, installed fresh and I still get the crash after clicking play on the launcher. I am running Windows Vista. All previous versions of the game worked fine.
One interesting thing is after running IObit game booster it simply does not do anything after clicking play (No error message). Could be some windows service interfering?

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Not sure if this has been reported yet, the German Language Files are either incomplete or corrupted. English works fine, in German i get "_missing Value" at like 75% of all Data.

Also, both Brakes are labelled "Front Brakes", instead of having front and rear brakes.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Thanks for fixing the engine sizes in the scenarios :)

While I remember, there is still a bug on the V8 cold steel taxi scenario when you can use the 2 and 4 barrel carburettor several years before you are supposed to be able to, giving a negative MTBF

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Being able to use them is not a bug (that's because you got tech pool points). Negative MTBF is a bug, if it's negative it should be set to zero.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

I tried the 1317 with a "complete" car: platfom, model and engine!

I appreciate all the new features!

I almost masturbated myself when I saw the new tyres/brakes/suspensions/bodies! :D ;) :oops: :lol: :mrgreen:

I encountered 1, 2 or 3 bugs (but they could be my misunderstandigs):

- when I selected the bonnet with the wings on the sides, "automatically" one of it, it was added "in the front" of the car hood (the car was the estate with "long" luggage space);

- in the tires/rims/wheels section when I selected different tires I didn't see any differences between the tires, no slick "tread/outrider/pacer" (I hope this is the english word for italian "battistrada") or no tessellated for offroad tires. It remain the "standard" tires (I don't know which is the name of standard tires).

- in the brakes section, when I "slide" the slider Pad I don't see any differences with the pads, always the "standard" pads little grey (I choose solid disks, with 1 piston).

So that's all guys!

Sorry for my english grammatics, I'm Italian!

The music that plays is randomized with a Gauss distribution around the year you're currently in. So in 1955 you will hear a bit of music from the 40s, a good percentage will be from the 50s and a few songs from the 60s.

Well, I put the music at max level, but the first soundtrack was really louder. And now that we have awesome music, it would be nice to play it even louder. 'Cause you know, that's cool and stuff... :)
Besides that, thanks for the playlist info. Too bad it can play a song twice in a row though.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Some more info on, what i believe to be a fairly major bug of the game not working at all on my system:
I force turned off Data Execution Prevention in command prompt as I know this interferes sometimes and I got a different error message on clicking 'Play':

"Exception on Automation Exit. Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory has been corrupted"

When i click the Play Demo button I get a slightly different error message:

"Failed To Start Automation. Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory has been corrupted"

When I get the "Play Demo" error I also get a window saying "Unhanded exception has occurred in your application..." and on expanding details I get this (Sorry to unload all this on you guys but better you know about it than not):

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

So where it is negative now it should be 0? Thats understandable since you are using some fancy new technology that you have just researched yourself, but in the full game it might be worth letting people know the cause of their MTBF being 0 and how to fix it in the little text box that lets you know what problems your engine has after a test. since its only in one scenario it probably isn't worth putting in the game just yet though

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

I've been building a lot of high-powered rear-wheel drive cars, and while they all have excellent cornering grip, and accurate handling stats... the acceleration seems off. For example, in order to get an E63 AMG (2012, twin-turbo) close to its real-life acceleration stats, I have to move the weight distribution slider to the extreme rearward bias. If I use the real-life weight distribution, it spins way too easily... even with semi-slick tires.

Mirroring what an earlier post said, the fake weight is not the only slider that is bugged. The weight distribution stat "sticks" when you revise different models.
