Killrob Edit: That is indeed the case. You don't buy your aircon in units of hp either :) If you choose kW as your power unit, then kJ/s are used as cooling unit. 1 kJ/s = 1 kW.

ROFLOL, we use BTU in the US instead of kW for aircons, still it is confusing for me as there is no relationship with using kW for cooling when building the car but HP for the engine. Its hard to imagine how much it could actually cool.

Ok now that I moved onto designing an engine I FINALLY spotted the "Required Cooling" spec.....................DERP!!!

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

A little disappointed i'll have to redesign my cars again... oh well. I'd have to tweak them anyways.

I'm afraid of cooling now. Went from a .232 co to .389 just to cool a 700hp engine, lol. This will be fun.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Couple of bugs for you, all from b1317:

The first one is the major one. I designed an engine through the car designer (clicked the choose engine button for the platform and designed a new one through there). I then proceeded to make a ridiculous horsepower (and sadly 0 mtbf) V8 that could barely fit under the bonnet, saved it and then went back to the choose engine menu. I genuinely cannot remember whether i clicked the engine on the list or not, but after that i clicked choose engine and got the following error:

Also, another minor bug I found. I don't know if it happens with other wing/size/body combinations, but when i put the rear wing further back than i meant to, it let me see through the boot of the car at the outside of the wing on both sides

I have this issue as well. I noticed the "Aspiration" part of that error so I made a naturally aspirated engine instead of a turbo engine to test and it works fine.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Just got the old bug where it would crash if you move the gearing to a top speed in the 300mph range. it happened at 344mph

*edit*
also, rim offset seems to be non functional

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

With regard to the aspiration bug there's a quick workaround. Load a naturally-aspirated engine first, then load a turbo motor and it should work. I've tried it twice.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Hi,

Found this one:
When in 'Testing', in 'Acceleration' the scale seems to be off. It only gives the first 15 seconds in stead of 50 seconds.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

That is intentional, only the first 15 seconds are really interesting in acceleration, as after that, not much happens anymore.

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

Great job guys :D

what i've found so far:
crash when setting the top speed past ~360mph
I built a car and my downforce at 126mph is -5.6kg with an enormous wing on the back....seems a bit off :D

Re: Open Beta: Suspension & Dynamics

"The car can only cool 562 hp, your engine has exceeded this". It has only 386 hp.
This has happened before with this build.
Sorry, can't post picture.

Also when choosing the the first of the three 'Skoda Fabia' bodies (the last one), I get a crash.
