also in the tutorial "stupid small" i tried an i4 engine with the smallest bore x stroke combo and cant get it under the maximum length/width/height limitations let alone a "small hi-po v8" as it says in the description

I got a V8 under the size limit pretty easily, it depends on lot on other parts as opposed to just the block size ;)

Good update, still trying it out - few weird bugs but I'm sure they're well on their way to being fixed.

Yeah but in previous versions I don't recall it playing as large of a factor. It was the one thing I noticed today in the new update that blew my mind because I have experience with limiting my Eclipse's redline due to its monstrous stroke.

Re: Official I6/Revamp Update Feedback Thread.

Hey guys,

another thing: I had a really hard time with the Kazakh Taxi Tutorial mission (!). I can only reach something around 1930 points (gold rank), I think ~2200 should be possible according to the difficulty level.

So I compared it to the closed beta version: Bore is at 84mm there (0.1mm higher) and exhaust diameter at 2" (0.25" higher). This could maybe result from the former engine saving bug (don't know how you define these prebuilt engines). Maybe you should check out the other prebuilt engines, too, to make sure they are how they were meant.

Flywheel settings will return as part of the drivetrain tab on the car designer as its more car specific than engine specific, you might use the same engine in a minivan and a hatch and want totally different flywheel weights.

when loading a rev 1 engine in revision, it resets the rev on 0 in sandbox.

Love the additions. I too was missing flywheels but I'm glad they will be returning. One gripe I have was the lack of I6 scenarios. I know more 4/8 ones were added, but will there be any I6 ones soon?

Update: I deleted the old saved Tutorial1.lua and the engine now has the right start values. You only have a problem when you started the scenarios with pre-built engines with a save-bug-affected build. So with a clean scenario folder there is no problem.

Re: Official I6/Revamp Update Feedback Thread.

In the Engine List screen on Sandbox, the MTBF (Which I assume is the Lifespan) appears to have extra figures stuck on the end of the numbers displayed when Testing the Engine, For example - One Engine had a Lifespan of 82674km in Testing but when it was saved back, the Lifespan showed 8267416385. This meant that it overlapped the next 2 columns.

Found a new bug. when selecting a stroke >119.3 and set the rev limiter to 8500 i jumped to 8600 in the test.

Re: Official I6/Revamp Update Feedback Thread.

Didn't find this thing with the search and decided to post it in somewhat relationed topic.

So i have been looking for the valve timing slider. where is it :D Could be very useful to get the valves timed in some critical area of the revs if the budget won't allow using the VVT. Bug or decided to leave that out of the game?

Re: Official I6/Revamp Update Feedback Thread.

The cam slider includes appropriate valve timings automatically. There is only ever one RPM number it makes sense to tune them for, and that is directly dictated by the cam profile. This means having a valve timing slider (we had that long ago, and it suuucked) doesn't make any sense, because you don't have a real choice. Or do you want to build engines that work suboptimal at all RPM?
