Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

Hey Killrob,

I would be pleased to be able to help betatesting this game. I have been following the development for quite a long time, as this game is the game I always wanted. Currently I am studiying automotive engineering, so I (should?) know a bit about cars.

Bad thing: I can only put much time into betatesting after the beginning of july because I have to finish my bachelor thesis first... :| But after that I've got plenty of time and I would be able to test for 2-3 hours a day. Until then I could test for approx. 1 hour a day.

Best regards and keep up the good work!

Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

Hi!

I'm Zephyroth, maybe Pyrlix mentioned me. I was the one who pointed out the different racing exhaust manifolds on V8 engines (flat-plane, cross-plane). He mentioned, that it is possible to be an beta tester on Automation.

I'm a real petrol head, not in terms that I own many cars or tune them, but I love technics. And a car is the best way to show other, what technics can do. You need mechanical engineering, electronics, thermodynamics etc. It's a huge playground. Because of that, I always want to know how things work. With the years I build up a huge knowledge about cars, especially engines. I can support on fuel system, ignition, valve lift and timing, turbo and supercharging, exhausts etc.

I'm not a programmer, nor a engine designer (I'm electronic engineer). That means I can't program or calculate engines. But I know how it mechanically and electronically works. How it has to look like. How it behaves. I know many engines and their specification (in fact, I rebuild all of my inline 4 engines I've ever owned in automation, the values fit very good), therefore I can test engines and scenarios in a proper way.

It would be a honor for me to join the tester team to improve Automation, as is going to be a great game for every petrol head...

Greetz,
Zeph

PS.: I'm from Austria (Europe), but English is no problem. I work in a big semiconductor company, where english is a must...

Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

I would love to beta test, I almost applied for the last one, but my classes as a engineering student kept me from committing time. Now that it's summer I can easily give an hour a day to help out this game. I'm very familiar with the mechanics of engines, and have a bit of programming experience myself.

Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

i would be pleased to help with beta-testing this. I used to work as a tester for 1 year, on iOS apps so I think i know how to test. ;) Also, there should be enough time for me to work on this, cause my job is pretty leisurely now.
I can code (actually i make a living now making Android apps) and i do have some mechanical knowledge(big petrolhead/gearhead).

Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

Last time my application was a little bit too late but I hope this time I am early enough.

I am 25 years old from germany and I have a master degree in computer science. I really like the game and the idea of how it could be when it will be finished. I appriciate if I could paticipate testing and documenting the errors or glitches.

I currently work at Daimler in Stuttgart as an engineer and soon will be installing the ECU and searching for errors in the "Hardware in the Loop" laboratory or in the real (electric) car in Sindelfingen. There I have to document them in a bug tracking tool.

I think I will always be able to spend more than 3 hours a week on testing.

Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

I would be more than happy to complete some better testing. I have 4 months of university now so loads of time to spare. I was also a beta tester for windows 7 so i have a pretty good idea of what it involves. lastly i think the whole game is and will be awesome! so a few hours working on it a week is well worth it for me.

Hi Guys,

I would be pleased to betatesting this game. I am 24 years old from germany and work for a big blue :D IT-Company. I love turbos, german cars and like to put their engines in this good game.

I think I will be able to spend more than 4 hours a week on testing.

I would be happy to help in the development of Automation. In demo version i spend about 2-3 hours a day. So, time is no problem for me.

Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

If you:

Have preordered Automation.
Are willing to follow the testing rule set and work on engine testing as well as scenarios.
Are willing to document your findings in a detailed fashion in the tools provided (Pivotal Tracker & Balancing Spreadsheet).
Know that "testing" does not mean "just playing around".
Can spend more than on average 1 hour per week on testing.
Are able to give detailed feedback to assist in making Automation more polished and fun for everyone.
Write here in this thread why you should be part of the team.

Have preordered, yes.
Ruleset? Tell me what this ruleset is.
What are these?
I know that. But some blind streaks can help other stuff. (probably the only reason I'll never get accepted to beta testing)
Can I? I could spend 2-4 hours on this!
Detailed? How detailed?
Err, I have a laptop and limbs.

Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

Hello,

I'm a QA engineer working for a motorsport engine company, I've worked my way from apprentice building and manufacturing various parts of racing cars and have progressed my way to QA role where I use my knowledge gained to identify, contain and fix issues.

My knowledge on engines is extensive though almost entirely through experiance and my own research, I do however have a wealth of colleagues with a more traditional technical knowledge who I can nit pick the brains of for more technical questions.

My knowledge on computer programming is negligable so unfortuntely I would not be much use in that role. However for devising and recording the results of various tests I should be able to hit the ground running.

I have a nice break in my studies (Engineering) until October time where I was looking to fill the gap with something to learn a new skill set and experiance new things and this would be an ideal opportunity.

I would be able to put aside the minimum of two hours a week without issue and hopefully dedicate more time dependant on my fluctating work load (deadlines in motorsport are somewhat immobile!)

I downloaded the game on recomendation from a friend and I've been addicted since, to the point where the time I should be going to bed in order to NOT be a zombie in the morning has been severly comprimised. I really appreciate the vision of the finished product and would love to have the opportunity to be involved in acheiving that vision.

Cheers,

Dabbott89

Re: New Beta Testers Needed (again)

I would be happy to beta test.

Can give about 3 hours a week. Possibly more when college finishes at end of june. :)

I have done basic programing (I mean very basic ie I can only really remember how to make the computer say something in dos so most likely not very useful) and did do a car maintainance course as well but that was only a level 1 so no where near a qualified car mechanic and to be honest the course mostly covered things like suspension, brakes etc and not much on the engine.

Never done any beta testing before though so not sure how much use I would be.
