Re: Automation Engine Designer Demo Feedback Thread

Also just bought and downloaded the game last night myself. Simply put: I'm loving the crap out of it. Spent about 2 hours on it last night, and whaddya know it's almost 23:00 here already (sat down with it after coming home from work at about 17:30, haven't even made supper yet!).

One big thing I'd like to see, being in a country where internet access is possible, but still sadly quite restricted, is the ability to start the game without the need to first connect to the net. I'm sure there are reasons why it's been configured that way and to be honest I can live with it if that's the way it needs to stay, but it would just be more convenient to be able to play offline as well.

Other than that, you guys are doing a hell of a job! Can't wait for the body designer, Vs, boxers and inlines (please tell me you're planning on including an inline 6 at some point as well). Keep up the kick-ass work! :)

Re: Automation Engine Designer Demo Feedback Thread

This game is truly all I can hope for. Oh my! I've really been waiting for a game like this, the gaming industry is nowadays very flawed when it comes to variety of games...

I'm not really sure if I should post this to the suggestions thread instead, but here goes.

I would really much like to see an ability to reset or clear the scenarios. I was showing the game to my father and he would have liked to go through the scenarios but as I had completed them it was quite stupid really to just try to make the engine even better.
And another thing that came to my mind: is the engine designer going to get more parts in it, like spark plugs, ignition coils etc.?

But thanks for the effort you've put in to this. I really can't wait for the game to be released! I just hope I could help you guys more to make this the dream game all of us have been waiting for.

If you go to the Automation folder in your documents and rename the scenario folder it will reset all the scenarios.

About the parts, I don't think you should count on anything that doesn't fit into the existing categories. (the ignition system gets upgraded when you go from mechanical fuel systems to electronic fuel injection.)

I am trying to play the Automation Demo on Linux w/Wine, but sadly the launcher doesn't work right that way. Is there any chance to download the full demo directly from some website? Thanks!

Re: Automation Engine Designer Demo Feedback Thread

I gotta say right now, my biggest issue with the game is the window thing we got going on. That combined with the UI, I find the window to be quite small and the UI to clutter alot of the screen , I know you can hide alot of info but it becomes a pain for me to do that when I do need tutorials. I think allowing us to choose how to size the windows would be ery nice as well as the ability to size the left and right side windows.

I've played all the scenarios, however in the 'Spinning Faster' tutorial, there appears to be no catalytic converter, impossible to finish the mission due to too emissions. Despite this, love the work guys, keep going! :D

You need to deselect leaded fuel. You can not run a cat with leaded fuel :)

Re: Automation Engine Designer Demo Feedback Thread

Well, I don't have much to say,but I actually like it quite a lot, even though my crappy family laptop struggles to run it on the lowest possible settings above 10 FPS.

I definitely like how in-depth it is. I tried out going for max power and made a 406HP engine on my first try, heh.

Re: Automation Engine Designer Demo Feedback Thread

Yup, that will be easy to impliment, for now just delete them out of the folder, but I'll prod Zeussy to make a button that does it :)

We did actually show Marty and Moog Automation when they were in Melbourne last, and they liked it, but sadly Rake was unavailable for comment :P

Re: Automation Engine Designer Demo Feedback Thread

Enjoying the engine building scenarios immensely! Has anyone mentioned that UAC is triggered in Win7 whenever the Launcher is run? It's not a big deal, but it's not typical software behaviour, so some people may not like it. (Or maybe it only happens on MY computer!) kthxbai
