Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 3 P&Q]
I guess I'd just have to compromise somewhere because I'm pretty sure I lost ~20 positions in qualifying because of tire choice. That or I'd have to change my pit strategy between the end of race 3 and before P&Q 4. Then I'd have to switch my strategy again between P&Q 4 and Race 4.

(That said: it'll be wet. I have no idea how that will change things - although I did quite well in the rain at Silverstone.)
(Also, race strategy could/will play a big part. Keep an eye on koolkei, for instance.)

So for qualifying, if we go back to your tire charts that show how each tread performs in the wet, I would like to be on whatever tire will yield the highest grip given the current humidity. So we are seeing at least X% humidity (where X is the point where intermediates yield more grip than slicks), I'd like to be on intermediates. If we are at Y% humidity (where Y is the point where wets yield more grip than intermediates), I'd like to be on wets.
For the race, in order to minimize pit stops, I have chosen to forego the use of intermediates and I believe my car will switch from slicks to wets when humidity is > 40%.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 3 P&Q]
use inters in race = 0
S2I: 0 -> this got you on inters in qualifying
SI2W: 39 -> change to wets at 39%
W2I: 39 -> this value can be ignored in your case
WI2S: 0 -> you change back to slicks in the race at 0 % track humidity (!)
My proposal would be:
use inters in race = 0
S2I: ~30 -> this gets you on inters in qualifying from 30% to 45%
SI2W: 45 -> change to wets at 45%
W2I: 39 -> this value can be ignored in your case
WI2S: 35 -> you change back from wets to slicks in the race at 35 % track humidity

That was not my intention...
My proposal would be:
use inters in race = 0
S2I: ~30 -> this gets you on inters in qualifying from 30% to 45%
SI2W: 45 -> change to wets at 45%
W2I: 39 -> this value can be ignored in your case
WI2S: 35 -> you change back from wets to slicks in the race at 35 % track humidity
So can you just make that so Der Bayer or do I need to use the BRC Tool and bother you with another PM?

wait.... I think I miscalculated... still, only need 1 stop for fuel... tire wear is almost non-existant, but I guess I can throw on fresh tires when I stop for fuel.

I'd love to throw mine into the mix, but it's considerably higher than the price cap. Plus it's more of a premium luxury car rather than a sports car.
Ugh, just saw the results. My car is not well suited for this one it turns out.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 3 P&Q]
Notes:
- Max # Laps = number of laps for a zero-stop race run at the fastest practice lap time. With pit stops, tyre wear, and rain, you won't run this many laps, but it's a reference point.
- Max Fuel Use = Fuel/Lap * Max # Laps.
- Max Tyre Wear F/R = Tyre Wear F/R * Max # Laps/10. Because practice is 10 laps.
- % Regular Tank = Max Fuel Use / (Tank Size - 2*Fuel/Lap). The correction is because the algorithm pits in when there are less than 2 laps of fuel remaining in the tank.
- # Stops = as implied by % Regular Tank.
- Total Refuel = weight of fuel to be taken between all pit stops. [edit: assuming full tank at race start]
- Full Tank Wear F/R = Tyre Wear F/R * (# of laps before pit stop)/10. In other words, the amount of tyre wear expected by your first pit stop if you start with a full tank and go until you have to refill.

Though my car's pretty slow in the dry anyway, so let's see what the wetness will do for it.
p.s. Der Bayer, would you prefer for us to send you the files for the strategy, or to send you the numbers to alter?
