It would just replace the first one.

Thanks! That's good to hear. :D

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

So I had a quick thought going forward. We have the option to forego using intermediate tires during the race in order to minimize pit stops. However, if we forego intermediates for our race strategy and then that strategy is then used for the next qualifying session, we may have cost ourselves valuable time in qualifying which is a big deal with how competitive this season is. I would much rather be on intermediates to maximize grip in a moderate rain for the two laps I would go out in qualifying, but if I don't use those tires during the previous race, I can't choose to equip them for qualifying purposes.

I don't know how practical it is to have a different tire strategy for qualifying using the BRC Tool, but I think it would be a useful addition.

Good point. I will just allow intermediates for everyone in the future.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

According to the graph, Intermediates were slower than Dry tyres for this qualy session.
However it might be unfair for those who are on Inters, in the case the rain percentage goes down as it will cause an additional pitstop. The opposite would be giving them an advantage though.

That's why I would suggest to allow us choosing our starting tyres from now on. It will allow us having an even wider amount of strategies and will provide quite a lot of interesting turns (and we won't blame on the game for an unwanted strategy!)

For this to be functional we would need to know the track humidity at the moment the race starts. IRL there is weather prediction and looking outside and being able to walk the track and get a feel for conditions. In B.R.O.B.O.T. there's more random simulation. I'm not opposed to this idea, per se, but I don't want to guess what track humidity is.

It would actually make things more realistic, as you would need to guess in an actual race.
Although nothing would actually help my communist hatchback that much in this season, worst in both the straights and in the corners.

Hm yes, choosing starting tyres is not possible as the starting track humidity and rain is somewhat random and I want to keep that. Your tyres are chosen according to the track conditions automatically. The only thing which will change is that intermediate tyres are available for everyone in qualifying.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

while my car in the competition is really badly tuned it does 2:25+ on automation test track but with playing around managed to get it to 2:21 would this be competitive for top 10?

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

What bothers me is that I always seem to opt for the half-way-in-between solution and end up stuffing my chances at both ends of the scale, lol.

Baxeg: there's no way of telling how competitive that car would be in a race without racing it, but that's not the car you're racing. It certainly seems like it might do better on technical, lower-speed tracks?

I think it would be pretty quick, top 10 in Qually? That's hard to say, there are some very fast cars, but I'd say it's definitely possible and depending on the track it could start quite high up. But in the races, well, check out Koolkei from last race, even a win would be on the cards. It looks very light, so on a the slower tracks it should be really quick.
