Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [TRUMP CARDS]

Oh, that's odd. I thought this was a transcription typo going from trump cards to spreadsheet, but it's not: Peskyboyz is listed as OHC-5. Should that be OHC-3? I didn't think DOHC-5 was unlocked.

Edit: Engine reliability 113.5? Was this a BRCTool export error?

Also, did no-one go DOHC or is that distinction just not shown on the trump cards?

There are several that are over 0.25 power/weight ratio..... up to 0.3, something is very wrong, or is this just a typo?

Now that I think about it that seems likely that is the case.

It isn't distinguishing between OHC and DOHC, I think. Also, you are correct. There is no 5v configuration available in 1966, so it must be a typo on the trump card. Or someone has used an illegal engine.

I did DOHC, so it's just not distinguished. Also, I have the third smallest engine! 1477cc's of screamy DOHC V-12 goodness. (Peak power at 9200RPM)

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [TRUMP CARDS]

Looks like my stats are correct, thanks Der Bayer. There are some hilarious choices here, I am highly amused. Jeepers, The Hearse, of course, the Breadvan...

A quick note: the FR not-Datsun 240z coupe body was quite popular and is capable of great cornering G at both low and high speed. The downside is that it sacrifices a lot of drive:sport to do so... not a single entry with >1g average cornering force had a better drive to sport ratio. Similar applied to the most popular body, the swoopy MR body, though in actual fact it was very difficult to get it beyond 1.07/1.00g. Exceptions to this rule include: NormanVauxhall's Znopresk (using a different body again, staying true to the company roots), and Puffster's ABR Roadrunner, which also boasts one of the best safety ratings (and a dry weight of over 1000kg!).

The one I'm keeping my eye on is Riso's car, which actually used much narrower than expected wheels on the front but managed was the only one to achieve better average cornering than my own car for a significantly better drive:sport ratio. It will worsen front tyre wear slightly, but his car is lighter, so the effect may not be that noticeable. On the other hand, my car's sturdier and faster at the top end (but, crucially, slightly slower at the bottom end). When it comes to the AT test track, most of the corners in it are taken anywhere between 40-120km/h so my car would be at a significant disadvantage. But the track list is a real variety, and one will not know what the weather or our pit strategy brings, so that's racing for you!

I hold zero expectations as to how competitive my car will be, all I really want is to score points every race and not crash too hard :P Godspeed!

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [TRUMP CARDS]

I kinda f'ed up my deadline so had to rush the unfinished car. had no time to do any design stuff. So the car on my trump card is just a solid body with a couple vents and humongous wheel wells. I'll just call it "Unique".

Just glad i got the car in the competition.. the old car i sent in blew up in the last test, and was much slower.

I know all about the weird swaybars, hence my 800+ stiffness rear bar back in 1945. :P

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [TRUMP CARDS]

I am also very curious about peskyboyz car with it's two anomalies. Not only does his trump card show OHC-5v configuration, but it also shows 113 engine reliability yet only shows 39 overall reliability. That really just doesn't seem possible!

Have a decongestant too. Your brain must be stuffy, seeing as you missed the fact your car also has a much lower trackdrivability than tracksportiness, which means I've already got you covered :P

That said I may have missed a few cards. If anybody has cornering better than 1.06/1.00 and a drive:sport ratio of over 1, let me know and I'll paint some imaginary targets on your body panels ;)

wonder how you manage use 205 wide front trye without causing time result because broken drivability

also your drivability is very low which probably cause some problem in BRC race simulator
