Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

ah thanks.. I thought I had a nice engine/body combo but the one I just discovered blows that one out of the water.
I guess I'll be doing a bit more testing with quite a few other options before I send in the new car so I don't bother Der Bayer with a few dozen revisions ;)
The car that I sent in will be a decent backup in any case.

Happy to say I've sent in a car. Hopefully it'll be competitive. I'll be interested to know what people have done, I think my engine will be a bit different than others.

You gave out your engine :D

Oh. Well, as long as you don't mind under 30 reliability it is pretty decent.

Just to be clear, can we use leaded gasoline, somewhere during last season I remember seeing something about low quality gas only.

Yes, we're all going for the "best" fuel.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

Awesome, also... spent 4 hours building my fastback style car and got about 2:22 on slicks (suspension needs work)...... start playing with the GT style car, in about 30 minutes im at 2:21 on slicks with basically no optimization on the car :|
I think I found my car body......

Edit: sub 2:20 now... still lots of room for improvement in suspension.... Me Gusta!

Low 2:22 on automation track is the benchmark pace?

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

Only less than 30 reliability Riso ? That's interesting. Might mean my engine is overengineered

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

it means your car is too heavy if you need to push your engine into such numbers. I mean I sacrifice a bit of reliability to push some extra revs, but don't go under 45

Nah it's lighter than Riso's.

I am not using the V6 but yes the aim is 30 reliability like in brc 1955.

Good time but you might want to find half a second.

Pfft, 15 or less is my motto.

My car is a lemon. A rocket powered lemon. :'C

And yeah, I think low 22 would be a good point to aim for.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

mine is using a 2L V6 with 37.6 reliability.

so 2:22 is average time... and such... is slow?

dangit..... my car is on the edge of breaking 2:21 though....

and how many MR to FR cars are there?

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

You have to consider Matti did set the best time of 2:21.58 in the test race. On the other hand there were only three cars under 2:22.
