Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

It doesn't even have to be older files. I had only two entries in each folder. One for my initial entry to BRC and the one I made today. I ended up moving the earlier entry out to get it to work again. I also had to move the Old and Thumbs folders out. :|

You guys are insanely quick.... Well.. at least i have a plan ready. I'm going to use a racing version of the Yajiri engine in an MR car

Hmm! Assuming Der Bayer permits, I might try a completely new car for the second pre-season test - I just assembled an RR coupe that's seriously quick with $1000 yet to invest.

I had success by making the car the first in the alphabet.
i.e. first car on the list, then the BRCTool actually read it

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

stupid question, i have built a car+engine with base model from year 1967, if i make a trim for year 1966 for both car and engine based from that 1967 car+engine for BRC entries are my car still qualified to enter the race?

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

is that even possible in game? i don't think you could go backwards in trim year.

even if you could, i dont think that qualifies, since you have a technological advantage.

edit:
i stand corrected. sorry bout that. turns out, yes, i guess you can make a trim a earlier year ....

my bad

still haven't figured out how to make the BRCtool work yet....

well its work for my car body, not tried it with engine yet but i think they can too as long the engine doesnt have technology that doesnt available in 1966

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]

If anything is from 1967 or later you will be disqualified, sorry.

Earlier years are theoretically no problem. But you must make sure that the car body is from 1956-1966 (the "Car body from the last 10 years" rule is applied in 1966).

Quick news: The first pre-season test race weekend will likely be done on Wednesday evening (Europe).

Yeah, scrolling down might fix your issue. I know that there is now scrollbar :)

Tyres and weather

A few people have asked about if how the different tyre compounds react differently in wet conditions. I.e. Semi Slicks should be worse in wet conditions that Sports or even Medium tyres. This has now been implemented. The effect is not very big, but gives the usually less grippy a small advantage (or a smaller disadvantage) than in dry conditions. The pic below shows normalized grip over track humidity. I.e. the base tyre grip is multiplied with the factor shown in the graphs. Use these graphs to refine your tyre/weather strategy.

Cool - that chart will definitely help with formulating tyre strategy. :D

^That is extremely helpful. Really makes the numbers all make so much more sense. I'll probably be submitting one of my prototypes very soon now that I know what I'm looking at.
