Ha, that was my brother's first guess, and I'm quite sure it isn't.

The indicator light being European, that's an interesting thought given that yes, most Japanese cars don't have the light in that location.

(Gosh, I'm so bad at cars that weren't sold in Australia, and this doesn't ring any bells)

I'll give a proper good hint for today. It shares it's name with a cartoon character you probably watched as a child.
