Re: 1996 STCC [Rule discussion]

So it is! But yes. Will struggle to get past 340hp. So the next question is... what IS the optimal balance of power and weight and which drivetrain will reign supreme...

That's an easy one, strop. V6 NA with AWD, maybe with inline 6s having a chance. The optimal power to weight balance? Max power and minimum weight, as usual.

I must be a Mad-man for running a V6 FWD car, aren't I? I just built my car and only just meet the weight minimum.

Re: 1996 STCC [You can now submit a car]

Isnt the weight limit a bit on the high side?

I can make the 114 inch landyacht weigh close to 800 kg and still have it compliant with all the rules.......

Even the 60's boat can be made to weigh 900 kg and be compliant...

Re: 1996 STCC [You can now submit a car]

The reason for minimum weight IRL is so that the cars aren't made with bodypanels thinner than a soda can.
WRC cars have a minimum of 1250kg IIRC.

The engines in the STCC and BTCC was limited to 8500 rpm. Maybe this is something to add.

Re: 1996 STCC [You can now submit a car]

I've set the minimum weight "high" to prevent cars in the Golf class from having an advantage against the family sedans. And to prevent people from setting the body quality to -15.

Re: 1996 STCC [You can now submit a car]

Introduced in 1992, the fourth generation of the Baltazar Basil is a medium sized sedan, that bla bla bla. Sorry, not in the mood for presentations. The car has got a facelift for the 1995 model year. Here are the civilian versions of the car, firstly the base 1.6 Eco trim, with a massive 90 hp from its engine. Secondly, the 2.5 Lux, with a 160 hp DOHC V6 engine. And lastly, the 2.8 RS6 version, which is just the touring car homologation version (but not really), at least it looks like a de-winged racer, and the V6 engine has been upped to 2.8 litres and 220 hp.

The racing version, although mostly ready, has gone back to the marketing department to be proper liveried.
