Re: Hot Hatch Cup - Accepting entries

The problem is I put the cart infront of the Horse Strop, the near 400hp 800cc is not acheiveable in 1999, I made a HUGE mistake and was building in 2009.

The 1999 motor however is still pushing close to 300

Presenting: Rule Breaker (Not Built by LHE because 4v DOHC)

My 10.1:1 AFR was giving me 28l/100km, so I had to back off a bit. Lost some power, but further tweeking has kept the speed up.

that front end looked ridicolously similiar to mine O_O

okay. 300HP.... at what RPM? and when does the power starts? i feel like the turbo lag is gonna be ridicolous

i tried making something similiar to yours..... cant get it above 280HP..... and the power only starts at around 7600RPM. although it does rev to 10500RPM

Re: Hot Hatch Cup - Accepting entries

After turbo testing I've elected to stick with NA. And what's more, I'll be using a RWD NA hatch! Then we can have a variety of formats to check the balance.

It's PolMot time, time for PolMot

Funny story time: I made 2 resubmissions cause I'm dumb. For reasons only known to myself I thought that it's 8l/100km as max and I forgot about "Safety locked to 0". So I sit an hour to make an engine that is around 7,3l/100km and I was faster than a benchmark car on the airfield track by like 0,12 second...yeah...
I AM AN IDIOT

Anyway, here's PolMot SMS-R, the king of ugliness and being not fast (I don't even care anymore).

Re: Hot Hatch Cup - Accepting entries

i finally submitted.

spent a bit too long on this one...

well this was the design i almost submitted
like it's name. it was designed to be attractive, young, simple, elegant, yet, a danger beneath the surface.
it was an RWD 1.4l NA
Image

but then.... i turned around 540 degrees........

went with this olde body, a 800cc turbo with AWD.

this is the horrible horrible curse from the norse god that i actually submitted (TL;DR worse than fugly)

Image

edit: now that i compared them side by side. i just realised...
the old body is slightly more prestigious, more practical, more comfortable, lower emission and higher offroad capabilities. O_O
but..... how????

Re: Hot Hatch Cup - Accepting entries

The turbo probably has boost levels that enhance economy but return better high end power giving a better top speed (though drag coefficient and thus effective area may hinder this...) As for the comfort, I have no idea

Hey guys, I'm having some dental issues at the moment, along with a metric shit-ton of work. Sorry if I didn't approve of your entry yet but I just didn't have the time. I promise I'll look over any new entries by this Friday though.

Here's my buzzbox! The Orion. It has a 1.4 N/a Inline 6 with 180hp. Also MASSIVE TIRES.
(hopefully its not S#¤t.)
Is this challenge race time based and not based on comfort Etc? Because this car rides worse than a church bench with wheels. :)

Re: Hot Hatch Cup - Accepting entries

Hey guys, just a quick reminder about submission format, since I'm having a bit of difficulty finding some of your entries:

Name your CAR MODEL HHC_[your name]_[car name], followed by naming your ENGINE HHC_[your name]_[engine name]. Don't just rename the exported file as that will not rename the in-game files, and will lead to me potentially missing your entry. Also, if at all possible could you please send the entire car in one piece, rather than sending the model and engine separately, as that would make my life just that little bit easier, (by using the export function provided in the sandbox, for the complete car).

Sorry for the rant, I'm gonna go back to checking entries :D
