nothing wrong with trying right?

Welcome! :D

You won't be able to join in the next race, as it's done season by season, but the next race is the last one for this season. So it won't be long before we get the rules for the next season (1965) and it'd be awesome if you join in with us :D

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R4]

From the other end of the scale, I'm happy to be giving up my lowest-ranking-from-season-one number 37 for something much higher, probably 5, or maybe 4 or even 3 if I dare bump killrob! But it's still a far cry from my usual form. Will have to think smart next season...

I've been pretty OK at general skill challenges, but I clearly have a lot to learn when it comes to pure speed. Hopefully I can start earning multiple points again next season. :)

yup, since im not entering this one, im doing a steal start on designing the car.

hehehehehehehe

then again im REALLY new to this games.

even with '65 tech, i cant get below 7.4s 0-60 mph time, cant even get the wheel spin below 50%, cant get above 220km/h top speed, without making much more power and adding weight..

im doing OK with the overall engine design(i've made a couple of 35% economy engines, even whem im not really chasing economy). just not with the overall CAR design

i have A LOT to catch up

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R4]

@koolkei: I don't know if this would have a favorable ratio of time-consumed to lessons-learnt, but GenJeFT organized a series of reviews of BRC 1955 cars that I participated in - it might not be much help on setting up suspensions (which, as far as I can tell, is one part "start with the default Race setting", eighty-seven parts trial and error, and twelve parts dark magic) but it ended up covering a lot of the basic go-faster tricks and tools (e.g. negative quality on the body panels for cost and weight savings*). Edit: Part 3 is probably the best - Killrob, one of the devs, joined us for that.

* note: if you use fiberglass, it stops getting lighter at -10, not -15. That said, it's so expensive you might go to -15 anyway.

Like I said - it's probably not a favorable time-consumed-to-lessons-learnt ratio.

Honestly, the first car review in Part 3 would probably give you most of the benefits that I'm thinking of - that would be about half an hour - but if you're not enjoying it, don't bother. ;)

I watched under "Last Broadcast" on Twitch. It played fine there, except for the ~30 minutes of utter silence. haha

Only 6 hours... that's nothing... that is not the longest 3 episode series I ever made ever...

Could be worse, the guy who runs a local cable company could have done the editing. Just think of it! 1 single 6 hour long video! (The guy seriously does not edit a thing).

I fully intend to do another video series like that again for 1965 but hopefully we will have the format down better so its not as long. Each car should not take 15 minutes.

I hope you also get the sound situation sorted, was VERY low, and/or echoing.

maybe 1 more, have the rules for '65 been somewhat thought out yet?
or is it mostly gonna be the same as this one?

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R4]

I'm guessing the rules for '65 to be; 0.25 hp/kg, 195 tires and $9000.
