Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying 2]

Well, the first stint went pretty much as I expected.
But oh man that second stint : started 13th, fell down to 33th, made a great comeback into fighting for 10th...only to have a crash and fall out of points.
Seriously, why does every crash my car gets involved in has to do so much damage to it ? I probably shouldn't complain with those big >90% damage crashes but still, 3 times out of of 4 stints I get over 50% damage...
Caution : exhibits bias towards high-reving NA engines.

Quite happy with the first race and putting on a good show for one of the very few I6 engined cars entered.

2nd race was a bit lack luster.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying 2]

And now I officially hold the record for the worst wreck in BRC history....upside down? Seriously? :P

What an honor. :(

The second race did prove my car is fast though. Especially considering I'm carrying nearly twice as much fuel as the average on the track. :D

Watch out for me in 1965. I have a can of whoop ass all ready to go!

This is more exciting than F1 has been for the last 20 years. So many things I'm learning for BRC1965. Things like, my car accellerates so dramatically that it sometimes has a hard time passing the car in front and instead tries going through it, with dire consequences. D*mn it!

Ahhh, I wanted to win that :'C

Why did you not tell me plutonium was dangerous! This information would have completely changed my design!

Actually, it was a really interesting round. We saw the effects of tyres, reliability. So that is something I will take on board for 65.

Also, the commentating was really good, funny quite a bit, so thank you!

Come on, I got passed in the last twenty meters. And I was doing so well. Anyways that was an exciting race and the commentary was great.

Pyrlix is on vacations, so I guess you would have to wait at least another 10 days for him to come back for the live commentary.

I've already built a car for 1965. Just waiting for the rules to know where it needs to be tweaked. ;) I'm sure it will break down and blow up just like the last two have, so very consistent. haha

I'm currently reading the entirety of this thread and watching everything to absorb as much information as possible. I love the 60s in American Automotive History and I'm hoping that the rules package will allow for some old fashioned muscle for the '65 series. I'm with Cobaltgirl as far as style of car design goes, but that doesn't work in this generation as it seems.

I made a car using another I6 engine (smaller then my other engines) that does 251kph and the automation track in almost 2:30 flat.

I've learned a lot through how my car has done in the races. particularly the importance of reliability haha
You can bet that I'll be coming back and battling for the top in 1965

Well, reliability is important, but it seems anything more than zero has the same chance of failure. Mine is ~33 and still had engine failure. Others are running ~25 and having no issues.....
