Yeah, I heard something to about that effect; Pleb himself said he was having some issues, so hopefully they can be fixed soon. In the meantime, I can confirm that all you need to do is uninstall the grilles to get the game running again. 8-)

And what about that error that crashed all saved cars?

tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--SANDBOX_DATA\CCarCalculator_IO.lua..."]:518: attempt to index field 'Body' (a nil value)

Haven't heard about this one yet. If I get the chance, I'll try to look it up later, and link to anything I can find.

I can confirm a similar bug when installing the game yesterday, I spent a few hours making car models but when I went back to one it plain and simple wouldn't load with what seems like a corrupted file for saving the setup of the car, and then a little while later another was extremely inconsistent with the same type of lua call failure - the one that doesn't show up at all being unable to load Body and the inconsistent one having errors with FrontSuspension.

Something similar happened to me not that long ago, though the errors were more consistent; unfortunately, IIRC, the game just stopped working after it tried to load the corrupted model. :|

It actually happened again...so it seems like some sort of bug. But more like a scripting error.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

The cause of the issue is that it seems Pleb uploaded the folder w/o the .lua file.

The game sees the folder, but it can't find a .lua file within it so it throws an error.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

I'm not sure what specifically caused this error, but I was loading a car I had made previously and got this message:

  Code:
---------------------------
Lua Error:
---------------------------
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--SANDBOX_DATA\CCarCalculator_Suspension.lua..."]:282: attempt to index field 'FrontSuspension' (a nil value)

You can CTRL+C on this to report it.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I do have mods installed, but I don't think I was using any modded parts on the car.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

I've got questions to Automation team:
Is someone doing something to fix this error?
I don't know maybe some concept thinking or anything?
Or maybe You need some more information?
Just give a sign that You saw that and doing something about it.
Please tell me that because I want to know if I will be able to play this game in nearest future. Or I need to uninstall it and forget about this forever? (I hope not).
cheers.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

Well, i basically got the same questions.
I told some fancy Killrob that the Saving System is a piece of **** right now, and he basically told me that i am the stupid one, because i dont understand how exquisite the superb complex system is ....

Now months later, we still got massive amounts of LUA Errors and selections not saved, thanks to the fucked up saving system.

Tried to participate in a few challenges, but EVERY SINGLE CAR GETS FUCKED UP. Too bad, this game had potential.

threads piling up in this forum, and the steam forum, with no word whatsoever from the devs ....
28€ down the drain

dont get me wrong, i KNOW it's in early access, but i expect that the most BASIC functions are working after more than 3 YEARS!

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

Have a read of the thread below, mer_at, it gives a simple workaround. We are aware of the saving issues, but they don't affect the game if you follow the steps in this thread:

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

Last night i made a model with 4 trims, in 3 different years. Also built an engine. Tested every car, got results, tuned them, saved. Everything was fine. Today i open the game, and the engine is gone? Opening the car got me a LUA error saying the engine wasn't loaded cuz it too big which is bullshit... this has happened before but i got really pissed off today and decided to reinstall the game.

So after 30 minutes the game was reinstalled and upon opening the car model i got this error:
Untitled.jpg
Untitled.jpg (114.33 KiB) Viewed 5245 times

I decided some mod was fucked up, because i did put workshop headlights on the model and resubscribed to each mod i had installed. It didn't help. I still got the error from the above picture.

Before and after reinstaling the mods, when i click OK on the above error i got this screen, and then i need to alt+f4

I've repeated this several times, and it has something to do with saving a car without completing the engine.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

I keep getting this bug pretty consistently:

http://www.imgur.com/LWYelWD

It always happens when I go to scroll down through the grilles. It doesn't happen with any other fixture tab, and it doesn't happen when scrolling UP through the grilles. Just down.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

I'm sorry if this has been posted already, I used advanced search, but didn't look through this whole post myself (it's a bit long).

I wanted to design a larger engine for one of my cars. So I started to design a new engine family, but then I realized, that the original engine was already close to max size, so I selected the original engine and clicked on the trashcan icon to delete the new family. But it didn't get deleted, some other family got deleted instead. I wasn't sure wether I had accidentally clicked on the wrong trashcan, so I clicked again and again some other engine family got deleted.
Now that got me curious, so I kept clicking the trashcan until the right engine family got deleted.

There I realized, that it had deleted the wrong engine family as long as the dropdown menu had been scrollable...

So I'm not entirely sure, but I think it doesn't take the scrolling into account when deciding which engine family to delete (maybe this is the case with cars as well).

Oh ehm: I'm using standalone B150702 on win7

That indeed is a known issue that is fixed for the next big update :)

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

Not really a bug, but more of an art problem, but the exhaust headers on at least the V6 arent lining up to the ports on the engine, and there is a gap. Image
