Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

I am so thrilled with this beta. I could not be happier. Thank you guys for all the hard work you've put into making it happen!

The stats with the V6 engines feel great. It did not take me long to replicate my car's engine and even its entire family (3.2L (92x81mm) 24-valve SOHC, and the bigger 3.5L (96x81mm) it was derived from) with accurate curves and the same exact general configuration of everything (minus the real pistons being flathead instead :P); this is something I've been looking forward to ever since I bought Automation. I honestly can't remember the last time I've been this excited about something, as sad as that may sound...

There's just one big thing (to me) I'm missing, which prevents me from being able to replicate my car exactly: longitudinal engine mount with FWD. With V6's (and eventually I3's?) possible to be compact enough for that, will this be added at some point in the future? (I'm by no means asking for a timetable on it, just wondering if it could be added at some point, whenever that point may be)

2) Years. Why does the game choose a random year every time I open sandbox?
3) V6 sounds. They sound great up high, but they should be "all about that bass, bout that bass, no treble (I'm soo sorry, had to)..." but mostly high-pitched. Maybe tweak them juuuust a little?

1) Huh, that's strange! Things are really fast and flowing well here. What system are you on? Can you check your game log if there are lots and lots of error messages popping in? That was the only case where I experienced serious slowdowns on tab switching.
2) A left-over from testing :) that's supposed to go!
3) Definitely going to do that, as I also mentioned in the latest Little Dev Update.

Yes! That will be simple enough to do and is something we have planned, albeit it is pretty low on our priorities list. :)

WOW! I never heard such beautiful exhaust notes in Automation, the V6's really nailed it, i wanted them to sound like that. I noticed a little buggity bug in the flow, when you select the platform fixtures or alter the body shape AFTER choosing the color or drivetrain it's not going to transfer to any trim, you're getting a blank body.

*Waiting for Cobaltgirl to squee about the newly added Modern OHV*

I am liking what I see so far, the export option is a blessing, the start up time seems a lot faster and yeah.. V6 <3, but I probably most enjoy the new model flow, that makes creating not just a single car but a platform so much easier.
Thanks to you guys and the beta-tester for working hard and now I am just waiting for the Workshop to be released.
It will come tomorrow still, yes? Will I have to restart Steam or should it just appear?

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

Sound:
V6 engine is much louder than the others.

Polish:
Aluminum, and ALSI heads have an almost blue/purple tint.
Harmonic Balancer for V6 with Forged / Billet crank looks out of place.

New Features:
Saving is smoother. Thank you for save button.
In love with the new copy feature in the trim stage.

Bugs: (Existed in previous build as well)
Client will some times crash when closing.
Client will crash while loading at 3840x2160 Boarderless window, will load in windowed mode with a blacked out background on home menu. Runs with out a hitch @ 2560x1440 and below.

Thanks for the beta pass on the patch, the new features in the design phase alone are worthy of a patch to themselves. The V6 looks very promising as well.

The problem of this version is, whe you click forward, in some bodies, I can't select the seat numbers, and the forward options.

Other problem: when you click "next", the game returns some widgets back.

That's not true IMO. I stated in my reply (http://www.automationgame.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6334) when you original mentioned that you were of the opinion that the "New" and "Choose buttons were unnecessary that I agreed the "New button was unnecessary, but the "Choose" button is needed because without it we lose the table with all the engine stats, which is sometimes very handy. I'd really like to have the Choose button back for that reason.

I also suggest that the engine drop-down display engines that don't fit in red.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

It's so nice to see V6s in the game, and you did a great job with them. My only complaint is the massive engine covers on them. It seems you're trying to replicate how real manufacturers now do this with modern cars, but I don't like it. I like seeing some pretty red valve covers! I can't complain about the rest of them, though, especially not that amazing raspiness around 6-6.5k RPM.

I've noticed that brakes seem to be acting very unusual now. Before I found that there was not enough brake fade, but now it seems there is too much. Even with large carbon ceramic rotors, I've found that any pad type less than 100 will cause brake fade. Not sure if this is intentional or not, but some words on the topic would be quite nice.

I suspect something unintentional is going on. I posted about it in the thread under the Support forum.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

I haven't had the chance to get to the beta yet, but a lot of it seems pretty promising from what I've heard, and definitely looking forward to the V-6s.

BTW, though, two questions: one, can you guys please fix the engine and car selection area sometime soon, if you haven't already? It's been (more than) a bit of a pain in the rear to have to keep scrolling all over the place just to find a car or an engine to work on? And one, do cars made with the custom mod bodies(that we installed ourselves) still work, or are they all broken for a bit now?

I had actually done that when looking to reinstall the mods I had before the new update/open beta but when I opened it up I found the mods I had were still there. They just weren't being read by the game for some reason. Am I looking in the wrong place as far as where to put mods now compared to before, or will I not be able to use any until Workshop?
