Two errors upon launch :(

Hey guise!
I have had this awesome piece of gaming deliciousness since not long after release. However, after updating to the most recent patch, I get the following error messages upon launch;

1. "Attempted to read/write protected memory. This is often an indication that memory is corrupt"

2. "Fatal error while loading init.lua: [string"--client\startscripts\init.lua..."]:35: stack overflow"

As far as I am aware, there is nowt wrong with my memory, so what could be the problem?

Also, sorry if this is in the wrong sub-section, I'm never usually active on this forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Could you provide us with some specifics?

Do you have the Steam version, or the standalone version?

Where have you installed the game to on your computer?

This happens when the standalone version is launced, should I try the Steam version or would I have the same results?

First question would be: has it worked before? Meaning, have you been able to play the game normally before this happened or did you install the game and this happened?
The Steam version and the standalone version are identical right now, so that would not help.
