Feel free to keep submitting, after all, the more the merrier!

Nobody wants to know my stripped down street production car did the airfield in 1:01.01. ;)

I was extremely surprised at how quick yours actually was around the airfield track, considering the 600 area horsepower you've been going on about. Heck, I could see you ending up highly placed at Green Hell. However, knowing Strop, if he finally decides to show up, he'll probably take Green Hell with no mercy, especially considering that's his territory in Automation.

Re: Formula Automation - 1990 Formula One Season

Two things, your image ain't loading properly, unless that's your "car" in which I don't know how you could race without seats and a steering wheel. For that matter, there ain't really a body. Two, I need your file still, already sent you a PM about that.

Also, I really regret setting that Race the Stig challenge as the final week cause I can't bust 1:19 for my laptimes, and well, that's easy to beat for many people. Deary me.

Lastly, you told them Cobalt, not I. :P

On a more serious note, Neon, you can reduce the visibility slider on the far right to show the various levels and cutaways of cars... unless you knew that already and you were just being facetious! (That's how cobaltgirl gets her cutaway views, by overlaying one image over the other and then erasing part of the external view).

And yes, I'll get my files in eventually. I've just been excessively busy lately. I honestly don't know if my car will be quickest around all, some or even any of the tracks. And I'm pretty sure there will be at least 2-3 users with a higher power output, because I have certain habits that tend to limit my outputs, namely, not using cast-iron blocks and emphasising performance index over max output.

I've decided to not enter, LHE would not produce a full blown race car. :)

I look forward to see what you guys put up though.

Re: Formula Automation - 1990 Formula One Season

I was just being facetious my dear Strop. Seriously though, his image may have glitched, cause I've had it happen where the car doesn't render properly and does that, even on max view.

Hey, if I were in your shoes I wouldn't either red. Even though my company is called Hyperion Racing. That's more because I'm a coward and don't know how to tune an engine for racing or laptimes.

Not cowardice, just not interested in building a purpose built racer. (yet)

Should be faster than mine at least, given that I spent more time on the exterior than anything else.

Red I was talkin about myself, not you there. If you would've read, I mentioned my company (and put emphasis on the fact that it has Racing in the name), then rambled about me being a coward.

Well I'm gonna go work on my 1600+ horsepower 1:1 brute and see if I can actually make it work without my game crashing this time. Then again, I still need to check out a submission that I haven't yet.

Strop has helped me in the past with engine and car tuning and I too share his love of performance index over outright power. My particular (almost peculiar, ) focus is on responsiveness; IRL I find unresponsive engines annoying and I really like doing mods that "sharpen up" an engine rather than shoot for stratospheric power outputs (this is relative, mind you, I've never done any serious tuning, just extractors and pod filters mainly). I, unfortunately for me, didn't learn Strops magical handling skills so my cars respond well, have neutral handling and get soundly beaten by just about everything!

The car Strop shared with me was so much faster than my own it was scary; Gryphon Gear can become Bogliq's unofficial aftermarket tuner anytime! (Since Leeroy Racecraft has the same terrible suspension engineer as Bogliq!!!)

CobaltGirl's 1.01.01 on the Airfield has really knocked the wind out of my sails though, as my car is much slower!

Would you believe its faster than mine and I have nearly twice the power..... I don't think the spectators will see much either with all the tire smoke
