Have you thought about releasing your custom race tool for others to use/edit? I would love to test it out and play with some of the variables to see how it affects the race.

The simulation contains original code of Automation, so I cannot make it public, sorry.

is this going to replace the vanilla track sim at some point? ...that would be a huge benefit for the game

I actually don't think that would make sense. The vanilla track sim allows you to test things more rigorously, by cutting out the factors that get in the way of reproducability. If you want benchmarks that make sense, this would be the way to go. the BROBOT sim system is geared towards competitive racing specifically where there are multiple cars on the track.

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [R1 Qualifying]

The devs are following what I'm doing. Maybe at some point, when things are more refined, there can be a motorsport DLC. But this is very far away. Of course the devs won't waste any time on DLC before the main game is finished and polished.

I do see the possibility of the new single car calculations in the game sooner, as it offers braking into and accelerating out of corners. Maybe I can make that modification by myself and let the devs test it. The randomness of the track times can be disabled for singleplayer purposes.

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [R1 Qualifying]

It would be good to have some indication of the magnitude of randomness, though - maybe calculate a 'perfect' lap time and an 'in practice' lap time with randomized errors?

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [R1 Qualifying]

Does BROBOT take into account the fuel eff. at the operating RPMs? or is it fixed by the car's fuel consumtion?

The fuel consumption is dynamically calculated using the BSFC graph.

Whoa, awesome! I probably can't make that time slot to watch it live, but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it afterwards.
