Help us Out: Website Feedback

We're looking at getting a bit of redesign work done on the website in preperation for the demo launch.

Does anyone have any feedback about what could use improving, what would make the website cooler/easier to use/show off automation better etc?

Any feedback is helpful to us and we will see what we can incorporate in the redesign

Re: Help us Out: Website Feedback

You could add the development livestream to the main front page, so that it is the first thing people see when they visit the site. I would also suggest having the 'home', 'buy', 'about' etc at the top of the home page, instead of at the side.

A COUNTDOWN TO THE RELEASE DATE WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION...EVEN IF ITS ONLY FOR THE ENGINE DESIGNER

Yup, as soon as we announce the release date we plan to do that.

Re: Help us Out: Website Feedback

The number of preordered licences would be a nice information.
The Automation logo looks unsharp. --> solved while I have written this
A Feature list beside the one in the forum would be good for new buyers
The Logout button position is not intuitive

edit:
The Automation logo looks unsharp not solved. if you call up http://automationgame.com the logo is unsharp it is only sharp if you call up http://www.automationgame.com
Mercedes C180 Coupe 07/2012 - ???

Re: Help us Out: Website Feedback

I find the website quite good, but the coloring is quite dark.
Also I've got a feeling that the combination between black-grey and red doesn't give much contrast, making the details harder to read.

Yeah, I've noticed I spend far less time on the forum already simply because it's harder to read/navigate.

In what sense? Its easy enough for us to make changes to how the forum works - and we will certinally make the Automation logo link back to the website, but I'm not sure what else would improve it.

Re: Help us Out: Website Feedback

I Like the darker color scheme myself. I frequently use a couple other forums myself and not to promote anyone in particular the best color scheme in my opinion is http://hardforum.com. (don't worry, its a computer enthusiast website) It has a very similar color scheme to what is here with the only thing that makes it a bit different and easier to read is the brighter colors on the thread Topics as the dark red on dark grey can get lost if looking at a glance ;)

I am partial to darker sites especially if reading it in a dark room and i find myself here a lot more now that it has been changed to this color scheme.

Also i have had no issues with this site on my iPhone 4s and i read this forum more on my phone than just about anywhere else.

Is it just me or is the overview page on the website defaulting to "Buy"?

Yeah, we're getting rid of the buy page and bringing it onto the front page, it's just that there is still some other stuff missing (we haven't brought back the dev blog yet for example)
