That only applies to passenger cars, doesnt apply to trucks, SUVs or minivans, the law has not been updated since 1980 so we're still in the clear :D

I'm just showing that I know about trucks as much as Leo does. :P (And to answer your previous question but not revealing too much, my truck does 13mpg and got more power than 225hp!)

Re: Battle of the Half-Tons [SUBMISSIONS OPEN]

Well you guys know what mine does, I chose to make a stripped down work model so it wont have massive power or luxury, hell it is only 125HP which is still more than the engine got in real life, the original Ford 300 was 117hp.

Re: Battle of the Half-Tons [SUBMISSIONS OPEN]

Blasters made his truck very similarly to the Ardent benchmark. I've received entries from leo and conan but am not at home right now to run them through checks. I will do that later as well as announce the secondary prize.

Re: Battle of the Half-Tons [SUBMISSIONS OPEN]

All entries that I have to this point have been checked.

And here's the secondary prize:

The top 2-4 competitors, based on total number of entries, will get their trucks written up in a magazine-style head-to-head review! I will, at the very least, do this in a similar format to the old individual reviews in Cheeseman's thread (as I'm technically still part of his team).

However, if there's a bold/insane volunteer out there who wants (and has the skills/programs) to do graphics and layout, let me know if you want to help take it the step further and make it a full PDF publication.

Trucks.... I know how I like my trucks!!!!!! Bwahahahaha

Question, I'm guessing you are using my equation as the core, so what are the weightings?

Ill work on my submission after I post the scores out on my competition.

.75 on the "low weight" ones, 1.25 on the "moderately high", 2 on the Utility. (that's the multiplier for the square roots)

Another way should be to use a turbo setup, but apparently a late 70s turbo setup REDUCES utility.

Re: Battle of the Half-Tons [SUBMISSIONS OPEN]

The choice is up to you. Remember, once you submit it, you can't revise it (unless it doesn't pass muster, and then only to correct whatever mistake caused the failure).

Interesting variety so far throughout the competition. And yes, JasonPoland did have the huevos to submit a FWD half-ton that I'd like to nickname "The Brain Rattler." :D

Of the 7 submissions including the benchmark, we have 3 straight-6's and 4 V8's, so that's pretty diverse.

Keep 'em coming! More entries = more people making it into the bonus comparison!
