How to determine the best mixture setting for HP?

I started playing the demo a day ago and I'm ok at creating engines for specific requirements
but when it comes to power I don't know what mixture setting to use.

How do you determine what mixture setting is best to obtain the highest horse power other than by trial and error?

Increase it until you get a warning indicating it's too rich, then back it off two clicks.

Basically, trial and error is the way to go. As a way to determine things it's not a bad method.

It also depends on what type of fuel you use and thus how much RON/AKI you have at your disposal. You can put the fuel mixture to the highest possible before running rich, but this will really badly affect your emissions and economy statistic. The more fuel mixture you put into the engine, the bigger the compression can be and thus the more power you generate.

Also, it depends on what you are using. Carbs can max out at 13.7 (different types get different numbers), EFI 12.5, DI can in a turbo engine go as rich as 10.1.
