I know he's already said he will adjust budget, but $10k for '55 seems very excessive to me. I ran the 1971 ITA season with a $9500 budget for the smaller class, and some really freakishly impressive cars came out of it. And there were a lot more expensive things available in '71 as compared to '55.

You can find them in Documents/my games/Automation/Cars and Documents/my games/Automation/Engines.UMGaming wrote:may i sugest that for 1955 we have 10000 cash to play around with
Of course rules will be adjusted to work properly for the respective year.

Could someone explain me why having a smaller engine with more cylinders would matter so much in terms of speed compared to a larger engine with the same amount of power output adjusted to the overall car weight.

I think it has a lot to do with weight balance. The heavier engine makes it more nose heavy.
Also the smaller engine can rev higher which will give it a wider RPM band to produce power.

You will probably gain at least 10 seconds going from the Automation in-game tests to BROBOB - and under 3 minutes is faster than I could manage in-game (I missed the first test).
Also, good-looking car! Congrats!

I often wondered what would be better: given the same power output and displacement, whether to go for 4 or 8 cylinders. I guess 8 will definitely be less fuel economical.
