I have this issue as well.

It would take too may words to describe this problem properly, to see what I am talking about just move the rim offset back and forth and look at what happens to the cost.

Re: Bug in Steam version

I think my car might be too swag for the game.

I've attempted to rebuild Mercury 4 times now, and each time I finish the car, the game promptly CTD and I can no longer open the file. I haven't put in any of the venting fixtures, namely because I somehow don't have all of Necronn's grilles and I need those to proceed, but I do wonder if it's that.

Can anybody open these files at all?

How many gears were you using strop? Could that be related?

Re: Bug in Steam version

Maybe! Mercury uses a 5 speed double clutch sequential. Maybe I'll go back and switch to 6 (if I can figure out how to do this in .lua without messing it up), and see what happens.

The first couple times it happened when choosing a value of 7, sequential and double clutch. All the ratios went almost together and the top speed value changed to a different one (screen below).
I've not been able to see/find a pattern, but if you play for a while changing the gearbox and the ratios finally you will get that 'bug'.
I've only seen it happening with a ratio value of 7 or 8 in any kind of gearbox.

I think is related with:

RobtheFiend wrote:The gearbox is now ok, just restarted the game. :? :? :?

One of my engines cause the problem. It is also for the 7 speed Seq gearbox.

Restarted and ok...

(Update): ok If you change a RWD car to AWD tada!!!, it happens (not always  ).

I also have had the same bug I think. I was adjusting my gearspacing using a single clutch 7 gear geared LSD on a AWD car. Suddenly when moving the spacing sliders all the gearspacing went wrong. When set at 0 the gearspacing would be as such that the car would go up to 100 kmp/h in first gear! Restarting resolved the problem.

Edit: After testing some more I really think the problem has something to do with being AWD and the power distribution of the AWD.

Ok, well it can be that it is an issue with having more than 6 gears? Somehow the game doesn't react very well on that.

Re: Bug in Steam version

Not sure if it's a bug or intentional, but I'm stuck at 679KMH. Gearing tab claims I have enough power for 750+.

What's the rpm limit on the engine?

Re: Bug in Steam version

RPM limit 8900, power peaks at 8700. Speed slider wont go higher. Back in b1418, it would allow some adjustment over theoretical max vel, but I can't get it there at all.

Re: Bug in Steam version

The rpm limit should be tied to the gear-limited top speed of the car. If you raise the rpm limit, does it increase the available top speed?

THX muchly Slim Jim. Forgot about that aspect completely (maybe I wanted to avoid blowing engine, it's only got 8.9 reliability).

Re: Bug in Steam version

Also sometimes car models seem to get mixed up when loading corrupting the save and losing the model/car.
