Re: International T/A Series [1971 Season] [Entries Open]

I want to give this a shot, but given how I've been either deadlast or next to last in every competition I've been in...

To be honest I feel honestly discouraged, much as I'm pissed off at myself for such poor results to a point that on one end, I'd try to make as fast a car as I can, but...I don't know.

Regardless, I've at least started on something, but I expect to finish DEAD LAST in both the 2-5 category and overall...

I may do revisions and see if I can make it as fast as I can in all categories...or not...we'll see.

Hey, I've been building cars and submitting them into competitions since the first week I bought the game and still rarely break out of the middle of the pack! Don't feel bad man, if you want to have someone look over your designs there are plenty of guys on here who can point you in the right direction.

Have you gone through the scenarios yet? I also really recommend reading the suspension crash course: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3446

As with np1993 I too have been entering virtually every competition posted since I have joined and I've pretty much always come last!

I finally bit the bullet and asked one of the friendlier old-timers (that was strop BTW) for advice on where to find time and my results have improved a lot (but I still lose!). :D

Basically all I can say is just be happy that you chose to compete as you'll NEVER improve without competition to highlight your flaws and remember this; most of these guys are veterans of many competitions and challenges and have been playing for literal YEARS!!! You cannot overcome that level of IP head start in a few days so just aim to improve; if you do better the second time then you're winning! 8-)

Some quick pointers:

There is a LOT of track speed hidden in your suspension settings

No point adding power if your tyres are too narrow, stats will improve lots but circuit time won't

Narrower front tyres on a RWD car will help laptimes

The airfield track is perfectly smooth, find and download the Brands Hatch Indy track as it is small yet has bumpiness built in

some quality sliders improve the car more than others, don't waste budget where it isn't helping and don't be afraid to go into negative territory; you can save weight on some sliders for no serious penalties

adjust the cooling slider so it is just above the required amount; any more improves overall reliability but causes drag...

Don't carry any more weight than you have to; if the rules don't disallow it then use it!

I hope that helps! :D  :D  :D

May as well submit now.

I'd work on my machine more, but my computer is littearly having problems with overheating, and I can't risk running the game till I find a better machine and fix this current problem...which sucks ><

That being said, here it is, The Weiler Hardy, something I hope can be a bit more competitive but we'll see.

I took what advice was given but, I wonder if it'll make a difference. Maybe I should talk to strop among others and see their thoughts on it.

Anyway, here's the Weiler Hardy for the 1971 25 season.

Contestant list updated. There were two rejections -- I have PM'ed them. They need to fix/resubmit by the deadline.

Speaking of deadlines... just over 14 hours left until submissions are closed.

48 minutes left. One rejection still outstanding...

As it sits, there are 10 legal TX entrants and a whopping 14 legal TF entrants. Thanks for making that class so big this season!

Great line-up, good luck to all!

Carbs are definitely not my strong suit, just how underpowered is my TX entry!!! Let's see if my OCD tuning can help the Brits out here.

Re: International T/A Series [1971 Season] [Race 1 Results]

I'm only one position behind strop!

I can only think of three reasons why this could happen...
1) Strops car wasn't fined tune for that particular track and will devastate the other tracks without mercy
2) Strop was drunk
3) I did a half decent tune for my car
