I can see that you are trying to get inspiration from nature. Have you tried looking for these words on other languages? They could perhaps sound better.

And Vos, Normandy is a province in France and it has been for way longer than the game where you found the name.

I'm more than well aware of the province in France, but I chose the name *because* of the fact that ship in Mass Effect is called "Normandy".

But i found out... that if you swapped a few letters you got a famous makeup company...

I was wondering when you were going to figure this one out  You're lucky I didn't make more jokes about it in the BSLL ;)

Not all duplicate names are necessarily bad. Or rather, names can be relatively similar because there's only so many possibilities, but it depends on what kind of vision you have, what you want to evoke. I wanted something mythical, because I wanted to make stuff that people wouldn't believe existed, but noted that Pegasus is already an existing automotive company. And instead of using 'motors' or 'automotive' etc. I figured why not try for something a bit left field, that rolls off the tongue a bit easier?

What kind of cars would you make? What quality do you want them remembered for?

I named my company after the constellation, but I'm pretty sure the name came to mind first from watching a lot of Babylon 5.

Okay, I admit it, I also took inspiration from the name of a RC car of old, which, according to the box, claimed the car had some kind of internal transmission you didn't have to flick a switch on the car itself to shift, which just blew my mind as a kid.

Re: Is this bad?

Me and my friend a little over a year ago came up with the name DownForce. I just recently found there is a company called Downforce. They make bodykits and wheels. They must be kinda new because they haven't even finished their website yet. But I'm still going to keep mine.
