Re: The Japanese Power Pact [CLOSED, AWAIT RESULTS]

Zolder Results

Here are the results from the first race at Circuit Zolder. We have Drake coming out on top here, with the Baltazar Quark just edging in behind him in second place. It also seems as if Don Cornaldie has last place tied up judging by the results of the first race, which sees him over 10 seconds behind the next driver!

And here are the standings after the first race:

Hopefully I didn't do any other stupid things with this set of results. :P

The next race results will come over the weekend! :)

Yep, that's about where I expected to be! I suspect this is also where my car will finish, too.

My car (Astana Serpent) also doesn't show on the list, yet has been accepted! Could you please add my score. Another fond would be great, it is difficult to read this one.

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 1 RESULTS]

My initial expectations were a little higher, but after seeing with what Drake came out in terms of cornering, speed, and low drag 8th is not that bad I suppose.

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 1 RESULTS]

To be honest I do not really see how anyone that is not within 1:50-1:51 for Zolder can still win, I mean there is a 10 second gap between the first and the last place. Is there still any point of continuing? It is not like other tracks will likely come out with totally different results if the gap is more than 1 or 2 seconds between the top 3 and the rest.

Also how can the first placed cars be that much faster? 10 seconds on 2 min is a lot of difference with probably nearly equal cars in terms of restrictions. Maybe Pleb or someone else can give us insights into that?

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 1 RESULTS]

Well, there is a hell of a lot you can do within those restrictions. And not everyone really pushes to win it. For me I experimented with a flat power band. I'd be keen to see if my car improves in the next races.

I hope the winners consider sharing their cars, I'd like to see how they did it.

It isn't great, but in fairness to that request I've added my car now.

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 1 RESULTS]

Great results!

I knew my car was fast, but had I spent a little bit more time making a even flatter powerband, I might have got it..

Edit: Added the photo

Due to Absudist's request, here is my car. The real secret was keeping the weight down

100% agree. IMO with loose regulations like this it's more about building the care you envision, and then make it as fast as possible than making the fastest car. Sure everybody enjoys a win, especially those of us who don't see it happening that often, but it's not always the ultimate goal.

For instance, I knew from the start I wanted a light weight MR sport car with a NA high revving, highly responsive engine. Of curse, afterwards, I tried making it as fast as I could.

It looks like you missed my car as well Pleb. I know it was pending because you needed the badge, but it has been on the forum since the moment I got it! It even says it has been accepted!

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 1 RESULTS]

I have no idea what went on, I think I just had a huge brain malfunction :( I will update the missed results when I'm back at my PC later today.

Sorry again for my stupidity! :( it's a pain in the ass to keep everything proper when I have very little knowledge of spreadsheets.
