Resource Managment

In the construction of the vehicles there are options which require "forge works" and "cnc shop". My question is, will we be left to find methods to procure the steel, iron, aluminum and CF( or in the case of interiors, leather, wood, plastic and cloth) that is required to manufacture this stuff, like finding contracts with foundries and various other manufacturers, or is it just an assumed resource we don't have to worry about?

Will there be variying grades of these materials, or is that just boxed up with the quality sliders?

Re: Resource Managment

I'm not 100% sure which way we'll go regarding that kind of thing, but I think it'll most likely just be assumed to be aquired automatically. But probably with fluctuating prices on things like steel and aluminium (which already have a price per kg built into the material cost calcs I beleive)

Re: Resource Managment

Finding resources might be a bit of a pain, perhaps we could have special sources (like if we want Italian leather seats, we get the leather from Italy), but otherwise the general market should have them. Maybe events that "the X you ordered was inferior, so it affected the make of Y (-Z quality modifier)".

Re: Resource Managment

We could use a system similar to Dragon Age: Inquisition, where by we're given a map advisers dedicated to different tasks. Like we could have a research adviser who gives you advice on what would best to research to acquire better tech. A resource advisory to go out and set up contracts with various industries around the world. An advertising and PR exec who gives you advise on how and where to advertise next, along with access to special one-offs like trade shows. Someone who specializes in racing to get you into that. An engineer who will advise you on the best course of action for a specific vehicle.

All of which would have to be individual "purchased" at a good cost for the player. There would also be a varying level of effectiveness to each, so you'd be presented with a choice of several PR execs for example.
