I did encounter some strange phenomenon though: Raising power just slightly at 257,5kW (~350HP) looses me about 10 points in reliability. No matter if it happens through boost, compression, timings or any quality slider. Even lowering the fuel quality and making the engine knock and thus dropping power below that threshold results in an actual rise of reliability. That can't be right.

Well, there were no grilles, vents or a car at all since I started with the new engine button. Seems the engine builder acts a bit erratic without a car present. Thought it would just simulate an engine testing environment but it looks like it would be best to make an 'engine test car', aka largest possible engine bay and plastered with huge grilles, to get reliable results if you just want to work on an engine.
