Maybe they are the last cars designed by your chief engineer at his old firm before he left to join Seishido ;-)

Or alternately a "1956" model that is released in early 1955, using 1955 tech. (as in, a 1956 in label only, but the car is built as a '55)

Re: CTC - Car Tycoon Challenge #6 - 1955 [BUILD]

Am I missing something very obvious, or is getting something to even qualify as a supercar quite difficult? Admittedly I haven't done a huge amount of tweaking, but the best I've managed for sportiness so far is in the high 20s (it does qualify as a supercar, but not by very much)

That makes sense since the term "supercar" wasn't even coined until the 70's with the Lamborghini Countach. The 50's and 60's were about GT's as trains were too inflexible and aeroplanes too cramped for the gentleman of means to be seen in. GT's allowed cross continent cruising at your own pace and they were elegant, powerful and classy conveyances that not many people could afford :)

By the same token, "hot hatches" didn't exist until what, the 80's and 90's? But very easy to make one in the 50's. minus, you know, the hatch part of it.

Exactly! I see the headings as guidelines and statements-of-intent rather than rigid categories. This is why I don't really mind that people from all categories end up buying cars outside of their assigned category; This stuff happens in real life :)

Agreed. My Ferrari 250 GT "EuREPLICA" - which I did not submit - had a sportiness of 26.9. I can't think of anything more exotic/sporty for the time. The average sportiness of all 8 cars I created was 7.7.

Re: CTC - Car Tycoon Challenge #6 - 1955 [BUILD]

Building a supercar (without penalties on score) in this round requires some skill, yes. But always remember that the limits in the buyer group overview are soft limits. If you have a car with 24 sportiness it will still sell in the supercar group, but with a small penalty on the score. The further away you are from the limit, the bigger the penalty becomes and the less you will sell.

of course it's not allowed. That engine was just for shows. the "real" car has a completely different engine.

This car features a 11 liter V8 414HP Marine engine that has been re-tuned for road use. Because why must boats be the only vehicles that get all the POWA! This engine is powerful enough to propel this cars 4400lbs of MERICA to 166 miles an hour! True to its name this car has only 3 colors in it. Those colors are red, white, and blue! The bodywork is a bright and eyecatching red because the color red MUST BE LIBERATED from the dirty communist bastards! The engine is blue because its blue blooded MERICAN engineering! To top it all off all the lights are white including the indicators, because we aint no yellow bellie cowards! All with enough trunk space to fit your biggest guns! Why did we make all this!? Because MERICA! BOOM! (4th of July Fireworks display).

So that's right! Go ahead and liberate that energy trapped in that old communist dino goo and drive for freedom!

Its the 50s! Yay!

Note* Cars not actually submitted yet, they are finished, I just have not submitted them yet, will be sometime tomorrow.

I see HighOctaneLove was going for my old tactic of pricing the car so high that one sale would get a decent profit :P
