Re: [NEW B1415] Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

Also, how do you get mid-engined cars so fast! I can't get a race mid-engined car below my Debranua time.

Tavshed Motors is proud to introduce the 2014 Tavshed SS8-R (Specialty Sports)!

My overpriced track ready production car is propelled by a 5.7 liter OHV V8.

This is the first real competitive car I had made in automation, so I would like the hear any advice you have to tell.

I think once you've maxxed out the power (use an NA engine, Airfield is too technical for turbo), it's something to do with their different weight distribution which affects how much downforce you should allocate to the front and rear. As you can see, I still haven't got it right (though Janekk seems to be onto something).

Re: [NEW B1415] Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

Thanks! I am for now going to continue squeezing every last drop of performance out of the Debranua. My production car is down to 1:10.9, the new GTR race version down to 1:09.7.

Random question; would modded bodies be legal?

In what way? Like a modified LUA file? Yes. But only if it's to change the shape.

If you mean community-made bodies, like Kubby's Vivaro, then sure. :)

I need to rethink my strategy, i'm getting 73.6's (1:13.6) consistantly with a 1002hp N/A 427ci v8 front engine AWD sports coupe

Rennen Kusanagi R! An extreme hardcore version of the regular Rennen Kusanagi. I resized the picture so it's not so in-your-face.

Is this even relevant? It's just the car and stats. I'll put it here anyways.
Image
Also, it has a turbocharged 2.7 (2659 cc) DOHC 24 valve inline 6. If you need that information.

Re: [NEW B1415] Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

Dear Janekk,

Image

Welp, took me long enough. I had to resort to voodoo magic to squeeze out those last few hundredths.

P.S. I am well aware that the not-Vivaro bodies house ultra ridiculously large wheels, and therefore have a huge advantage when it comes to tackling the leaderboard. While hilarious that I have in my possession a van that goes faster than ALL my super ultra sports race cars, I also find it vaguely wrong and unnatural and therefore I don't wish to submit a van to this leaderboard!

Re: [NEW B1415] Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

About as much as you can squeeze out of a naturally aspirated engine in the large MR body. More horses than kilos, the way I like it :P

Airfield is a unique challenge because more power doesn't mean faster, because it's technical and tight and doesn't have long straights. There's a lot of power coming out of corners (Hammerhead a case in point), so you need nice gradated power to get it down more effectively. That's why, I think, NA engines have an advantage in this simulation, on this track.

Re: [NEW B1415] Automation Airfield Power Lap Times

I am happy to announce that neither of my entries use the van body. Therefore, I am not relying on huge 465 tyres.

EDIT: There should be a fastest road-legal entry too.

Ugh, Leo, really??? I was so pleased just to have passed Janekk's old time, and now I realise you've gone and done that!? :P It never ends...

Also you should totally throw me a bone. How on earth did you manage to trim the time down that low? Are you using the MR body? Orrrrrr... are you using the not-corvette coupe body?

I will never reveal my secrets! (evil laughter)

Actually both cars use the mid-engined supercar body
