This is a difficult choice. Normally I would say, Volt because I think it's better looking and because 'Murica!! But the i3 is sooooo much faster. Can I cheat and say the drivetrain and performance of the i3 with the styling of the Volt/Ampera?

Ok, ok... I *grudgingly* choose the i3. While we're on the subject of BMW:

1995 BMW 850CSi (last model year they were sold, at least in the US) or 2012 BMW 650i w/ 6-speed manual (apparently the last model year they came with manual gearboxes, at least in the US)

At the moment i would go for battery electric, becuase you have much more different cars on the market.
In the future this might change but no one really knows.
