Reliability

When I made an engine for a car, it lists it's reliability as 79.8. Okay, good.
I edited it on my own, but first, I tested it with no changes. Suddenly, the reliability drops... to 14.3.
I tuned it, threw it back into the car, lowered the quality for price, tested it... 78.1.
Can someone help? o-o

Re: Reliability

It might be a lack of cooling to the engine. That or you are misinterpreting the overall reliability as the engine reliability, or vice-versa.

Re: Reliability

Nope, pretty sure I'm only looking at the engine. The cooling might be a big factor, however.

Re: Reliability

I'm not quite sure how it is working now. Before we had the car designer there was hard limit of 150hp/liter (?) and after that the reliability dropped quite fast. Now we have cooling calculations and reliability of engine is depending on the cooling capacity of the car. But if you tested the engine without the car it could be that the reliability is based on the old calculations? Just speculating...

yeah, I think the cooling in the engine designer is still set to whatever cooling you would need for a 150bhp/l engine. If you stick it in a car with much better cooling than that, then the reliability will shoot up
