I wanted to divide track day and supercars a bit more so that not the same cars are good in both segments. We'll see how things work and can adjust the limits again next time. But the limits are very low in general. If you pay hundreds of thousands of dollars, you expect at least some comfort. You can easily get 22.8 comfort with standard interior and basic entertainment if you don't screw up at other things.

The limits are not intended to be hard to achieve, they are just there to sort stop extreme cars entering the wrong target groups.

07CobaltGirl wrote:OK, I am still completely confused by the scoring on the spreadsheet. What exactly is a "reasonably good" number for the scoring in a category? I know it can drastically change dependent on what other cars are submitted, but as with the CTC-4, the numbers are nothing like the ones from the CTC-3 in this competition. Either I'm doing it very, very, very badly, or the scoring system is very different. Can anyone assist me with this? I really don't think my cars are that horrible, although I did not make a profit in the first three CTC events, so I could certainly be very, very, very wrong about my cars. ;)

In fact, the scoring on the spreadsheet is what kept me from entering CTC-4...

Is this good, average, or bad?

Buyer Group Scores
C$ 1
C$$ 2
CS 6
M$ 5
M$$ 9
MS 21
L$$ 31
L$$$ 18
TD 26
GT 49
SC 52
TP 0
FY 3
OR$ 0
OR$$ 0

Expect reasonable (noticable) sales with a score above ~20. Lower scores can be enough, too, if there is very few and bad competition. Higher scores might not be enough if there is very good competition. It all depends :) Build as good as you can and use the scoring table to check if you completely missed the target groups you aimed for or if you didn't meet a minimum limit etc.

Yes. More competitions. :D

Ardent Motors is planning to go for broke this time. Hopefully they can emerge from the shadows of some very clever competitors.

Nvm, it was just the preview that was broken, which threw me off :P

EDIT:

Well, time to announce my two contenders, they have been in my prototype workshop for awhile and showed potential, time to finish them up and get them ready for the challenge:

The Warrior

"Power to the people"

This car was designed as a potent sportscar, affordable to everyone, cheaper than a GT86, been wanting to do this for awhile and I'm satisfied with how it turned out.
Image

The Venture

"Veni Vidi Vici"

Dragotec's high-end allrounder for successful businessmen who want some fun too. Weighing in over two tonnes it certainly isn't a lightweight like the Warrior, but it sure does pack a punch.

these challenges are great, for which we are very thankful, but I believe they will help tremendously in the development of the tycoon aspect of the game.

Here are my two entries for CTC #5.

On the left is the Automobili Ciclón. This mid-engine supercar is powered by a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 producing in excess of 600 horsepower. A naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 was considered for production, but is still under development. :P Power is routed through a 7-speed double-clutch gearbox and sent to all four wheels. Pricing is not yet announced, but with the Ferrari 458 and McLaren 650S as direct competitors, it will be competitively priced.

On the right is the Seoul Revelation 5.0. This large premium sedan is powered by a 5.0-liter direct-injected V8 producing well over 400 horsepower. Rumors abound of a supercharged version of this engine making its way into production. Insiders say they'll be available soon, but not before other parts of their product portfolio are completed first. :P Power is routed through a sophisticated new 8-speed automatic gearbox and sent to the rear wheels. The Revelation was designed to nuke sales of the BMW 550i and Cadillac CTS V-Sport so expect similar, if not lower prices.

Because of the way this website displays large images, I thought you had just randomly posted a picture of the sky, completely forgetting that you have to scroll down on the image itself when its in one of those boxes :P
