In the workshop, there were some good news. Comrad Uri has secured a shipment of an engine for me. It is from some capitalist country that, it seems, would prefer to join the right side of the iron curtain. He said something about some old empire, a crazy leader and good food. The engine arrived in this big box, with a trident stamped on it. Uri's friend, cleverly, had convinced the guys at the border that it was some farming equipment. The engine was big, and yet light, I was told it was an experimental engine, found right next to the factory, made of aluminium. That must be some western propaganda, but he assures me it is better that cast iron. Non-sense. After that, he proudly presented me another package, with Smolensk written all over it. This should be good, something built by our hard-working comrads at the north. Once the box was opened, there were a couple of triangle shaped bars. Uri told me that is was the rear suspension. I felt disappointed, how would these weak triangle things hold up? It would be much better if we were to have a solid beam running through the car. He has told me that I should wait and see. I'll find out if all this witchcraft is of any use on the track.
