Aerodynamics Questions

Since i haven't found any aerodynamics guide in the forum, i'm going to ask here for some help with aerodynamics in the "Trim" section of the Car Designer. What i'm trying to do now is a supercar, and some help with this would surely be good.

Thanks for your help,

Re: Aerodynamics Questions

Downforce is a recent post on the forum. It gives a bit of insight as to how this works. Might help explain something, at least. :)

The basic concept is a front slider and a rear slider for aero inclination. This should be the angle of the front splitter/wing and rear splitter/wing. The above thread tries to answer how these interact with each other on the car, in a relatively simplistic perspective.

Then there is a Downforce slider, which controls how much effectiveness the pairing has on the overall car. The higher it is, the higher the downforce overall will become. Presumably, this effect is applied after the individual front/rear factors have been calculated.

Re: Aerodynamics Questions

Just a small correction: the downforce slider is for undertray only! The inclination sliders are the same as the downforce slider but for the respective lips/wings only. :) There will be an entire tutorial video on this in the next big update, and proper description texts, etc.

Re: Aerodynamics Questions

Note also thatas of build 1414, (I think), the exact placement of the wing or lip will affect how much it contributes to front/rear down force.
