[Tycoon] Investment in professional racing?

Might be that this has already been suggested: i think it would be great idea for the Tycoon part of the game if you could sponsor a professional racing team and create the engine for them. Just simple, no maneging the team ofcourse but you do get to sponsor a team, develop the engine every now and then and see the results they achieve. If you succeed, you'll earn some free marketing if you fail you get negative marketing.

Btw, currently Game Dev Tycoon is doing a great job at creating a good tycoon game. Its pretty simple yet lot of depth and fun. The idea the use for creating better products (don't create simply the best, just keep creating stuff that is a little bit better each time) keeps the game fun and challanging.

Also, Game Dev Tycoon is pretty shallow compared to Automation. The gameplay also differs in many ways and cannot really be compared. Where Game Dev focuses on getting better every single game, Automation offers you a chance to read the market and have a great hit straight away, as long as you make the right choices and provide the best car and engine. Of course you have the opportunity to create a better car every time you create a new one, but it definetly doesn't work like Game Dev tycoon does.

Isn't that going to be boring then? The fun thing about Game Dev Tycoon is that you always need to make the next product better but not too much. Its always a challange and it keeps going on. If you can make a hit with the first car, what will the next challange be? And how do you prevent exploiding it? If you know how to read it market, you can keep exploiting it (somebody will certainly create a tutorial on what parameters read what...). Not saying its gonna be boring, but Game Dev Tycoon certainly found a gameplay keeps being challanging and i don't yet see how Automation will be challanging by the way you describe it.

That's the point of business simulation ("strategy") games. But if the AI/Multiplayer opponents are good, they will try to interfere and make your life harder by focussing on the same markets.

Also, you cant make one car that fits all (ATLEAST) 40 target groups, so there is other companies that have a chance of creating a hit on other markets, outselling you, making a bigger profit and everything.
Much variety, as they also might steal your sales!
