I'm sure most of you have by now played the "Weirön 1000BS" scenario, where a certain manufacturer became so infatuated with 4 figure outputs that they insisted that you build them a 1000hp engine. One may have scoffed at the frivolity of the notion, but sometimes, relevance falls by the wayside as fancy takes a firm, irresistible hold. This thread is a homage to all those indulgent auto magazine articles and TV show segments, and those crazy festivals that celebrate obnoxious extravagance of power, speed and big fat long streaks of rubber adorning the bitumen. This thread is like the fastest parts of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, or when the auto mag journos get their hands on a new supercar.

It is also a non-competitive celebration, for each entry in this Hall of Infamy has its unique characteristics, from styling to driving experience, driven by their creators' distinctive visions. From race bred track cars to luxurious rockets to hair-raising dragsters, no one car can be exactly compared to another. All these cars have in common, are engines that defy rational sense, with 4 figure outputs.

Camoria V-Style Special

This car was originally used to compete with the Automation Test Track time competition for the production car segment. After shattering the previous Camoria cars by seconds, the V-Style Special went on tour to advertise the power of Camoria Automotive design and MONO Performance engineering. Derived from the base V-Style, the Special takes design and engineering to the next step. This car is for the true petrolhead. We wanted to make a car that would be easy to work with. Besides outrageous performance figures, the engine itself is not that intimidating. It can be easily modified and worked upon by any knowledgeable car guy.

Presently, the car seen below is fitted for the track. We are making models that will work well for the road. We plan on soon adding some gadgets to the interior to make it more suited for the road. This car still works well on the road, but it is not as comfortable as future models will be. In terms of production, seeing as this is a special edition production version of an existing model, we do not intend to sell these by the thousands. In fact, we only plan on selling 528 of these models, in celebration of the birth date of our founder, Babs Camoria (Born May 28th).

Before we get into the development and the stats of AMW’s entry, I shall give you guys some general information about the real world peregrine and the car. And while most of the information is true and intended to help you understand the context a bit better, please don’t take everything seriously


Like all AMW coupes, this one is named after a bird, the peregrine. (Un-)Surprisingly, the car and the bird have quite a few things in common.
Firstly, both are the fastest species of their class. The real world peregrine is the fastest bird on earth, doing 200mph; the AMW Peregrine is the fastest coupe on earth, at a top speed of 316mph.


Secondly, they both have an athletic and muscular body which enables them to perform the way they do.

The bird has a strong trunk musculature to help it flap its big wings, and the car has a massive 7.5L twin-turbo V8 to guarantee maximum acceleration.

Thirdly, neither of them have unnecessary weight to lug around. If the bird were fat, it wouldn’t be able to reach its maximum speed of 200mph. It would fall more quickly by the laws of physic, but that’s a different story. The AMW is also as light as possible, it’s made from carbon fibre and it comes with super light interior and no entertainment to guarantee outer worldly acceleration.
Another commonality is that both of them can easily be recognized by experts/enthusiasts.
Then, the bird is known for its very good sense of sight. So is the car, thanks to its double-layered circular Xenon headlights with white angel-eyes which will make driving by night very pleasant (especially if there’s no traffic).




But obviously, there are also some differences. The biggest one is that the bird doesn’t have an engine. Its body force is lower than 1hp, and with that in mind, 200mph top speed is very impressive. Naturally, 1hp in a car doesn’t get you anywhere. And to make the AMW Peregrine the fastest car on earth, the engineers had to think of a way to make this car produce enough power to set the new top speed record, which they did.

Also, while the bird hunts other birds and eats them to survive, there’s no such analogy for the car. It sure “eats” other cars in terms of acceleration, but it doesn’t need that to survive. What it needs to survive is fuel, a lot of it.

Moreover, the bird hunts its victims silently, whereas the car will make your entire neighbourhood shake in fear as soon as you start the engine. Don’t worry though. Despite the lack of sound insulation, AMW provides a special pair of earmuffs to prevent the driver from deafening.

In addition to that, while both the bird and the car have 2 wings, they are of contrary use. The bird needs them to fly, whereas the car uses them to avoid taking off. You really wouldn’t want to take off in a car at speeds of over 500km/h without side wings or any way of landing safely.

Another difference is that if you’re lucky and skilled enough, you can go bird hunting (or find a nest that contains some of its eggs) and get a peregrine for free. The car, on the other hand, will cost you 1.2 million €.

Lastly, while the bird is light and nimble, the car isn’t. Everything on the car is light-weight, but overall it still weighs 1640kg, and that’s quite a lot. Couple that with 2598Nm of torque, and the only thing you get when you floor it coming out of a corner is wheelspin. As a result, it’s not a particularly fast track car.



But let’s not forget: this car isn’t about lap times. It’s about acceleration and top speed. And that can clearly be seen if you let it run freely. It completed the 5km AMW testing straight in 43.77 seconds, reaching its top speed several seconds before the end.



That, ladies and gentlemen, is what this car does best. Accelerating like there’s no tomorrow. The engine that enables this mindblowing performance is a 7.5L twin-turbo V8 with 2230hp and 2598Nm/1916lb-ft of torque.


All that power is put to all four wheels via an 8-speed double-clutch gearbox. 0-100km/h takes 2.2 seconds, and there are a few faster accelerating cars on the forums. But 0-400 in the Peregrine takes less than 13 seconds, and I think that’s where the possible competition ends. And the top speed is, as far as I know, unrivalled. It’s 509km/h.
Cracking the 500km/h mark has been one of my personal goals for a long time. Why 500km/h? Because currently the fastest road cars on earth are around or slightly below the 450km/h mark, and I wanted my car to be significantly faster so that the top speed record would last longer. But before this car, I was unable to make an engine powerful enough to achieve this goal. So I asked my buddies strop and Jakgoe for some advice. The final engine, however, was built all on my own. All 7587cc of it, as well as the 2 turbo-chargers, are tuned to be as powerful as possible. And while Gryphon Gear's Mephisto makes about 100hp more due to a smaller engine capacity and hence bigger turbos as well as higher revs, the Peregrine has the highest amount of torque on the entire forums (counting only car models, not engines alone). And while this engine is as thirsty as a bunch of Germans at Oktoberfest (I can say that and laugh about it because I’m not German but Austrian), it’s also as green as Greenpeace in terms of emissions.

Production is limited to 2230 cars, each of which will cost 1.2 million €. And in some ways, that’s actually cheap. Given the colossal speeds of this car, it’s a pleasant surprise that it’s at least half a million € cheaper than the Bugatti Veyron Supersport and the Koenigsegg Agera R/One:1. And keep in mind that the Peregrine will accelerate from 0-400 faster than those cars will go from 0-300. Also, be sure to check out the next Batman movie, in which the Peregrine has a leading role as the new Batmobile.


Summing this car up, then, is pretty easy. If you want the ultimate speed machine that nobody else can rival, buy this car. It’s not your car if you want fast lap times, comfort, fuel economy or practicality. It’s your car only, if you wanna own the fastest car on earth and if you dare to drive it (and if you have 1.2 million €).

Almost immediately preceding the Second World War, some blokes in the United States Navy decided that, in the event of battle, the carrier fleet needed a dive-bomber to replace the Douglas SBD Dauntless. The Dauntless had just been deployed to American carriers, but almost instantly, aircrews complained about its lack of speed, armor, and brute power of the aircraft. So, in record time, the mad scientists employed by the military were able to develop a replacement: the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver!

The Curtiss was not only a replacement to the Dauntless, it was a worthy successor. It was bigger, better armed, and was, most importantly, more powerful. It had a Pratt & Whitney R-2000 Twin Wasp engine, producing 1,300 horsepower, and making the aeroplane the fastest dive-bomber in the Pacific Theatre. Still, the pilots complained, citing its lack of handling and range... But no matter, it had one of the best combat records of any plane in the war.

Enough of this boring military history...

If I were to introduce to the world a car that is naturally aspirated, not a soul would bat an eyelid at it. It would go down in the annals of history as nothing more than a footnote, a meager notation in the wide world of cars. If I were to introduce a car that was capable of more than 9,000 RPM, again, it would not make more than a slight indentation in the impressionable mould of the world of cars. Some people might remark over its abilities, but really, it would be nothing special. If I were to introduce a car with 1,300 horsepower, it would be quite the attraction, a sure sign of the technological advances being made in this day and age. But this car would not be alone in its achievement. Both the Koenigsegg One:1 and the Hennessy Venom GT are at this threshold, and the One:1 even exceeds it by a sizeable margin. Therefore, this car would not be a milestone in automotive history, but a slight advancement.

Now, imagine a car with that combines all three of these characteristics, a car that is naturally aspirated, a car that can reach over 9,000 RPM, a car that can achieve 1,300 horsepower. All in one car.

Now, you might say:

This must be some new race car! Perhaps it is part a new generation of Formula One racers? Might this car be a Le Mans Prototype?

And I will respond:

While you have a sound reason to believe that, it is not the case.

At this time, it is excusable for one to ponder if this is a concept car, a showing of automotive might by a large company with a history of cars like this. It is not. Another reasonable thought is that this car is nothing more than a "vaporcar", a car by a start-up company, often with unbelievable claims of power and speed. Almost always, these claims turn out to be false, no car is ever produced, and nothing more is heard from that company again. It is not.

Nothing like this has ever come off a production line before. Nothing like it has even dared to set foot on public roads.

A road legal car, naturally aspirated, capable of exceeding 9,000 RPM, with a power output of 1,300 horsepower. This is something new, destined to change the way supercars are looked at for the rest of eternity (okay, maybe just the next few decades). This is an air-breathing, fire-spitting, tyre-killing supercar, forged in Hell's furnace of fire and brimstone.

This is the Smolensk Helldiver.

Smolensk has never given its models "names". Every car carried a designation of one, two, or three letters because, frankly, they didn't deserve anything more than that. Smolensk's previous, turbocharger-assisted feats have been reduced to next to nothing by the Helldiver. The car is the first by Smolensk to warrant a name, and the name it gets is justified.

Like it's aeroplane predecessor of yore, the car develops 1,300 horsepower. This time, instead of coming with a 32.8 liter, 14 cylinder radial engine, it comes with an 8.6 liter V8, sending power to all four wheels. The engine is about the same size as the one found in the Dodge Viper, however, there is one crucial difference. The Viper's engine produces about 660 horsepower less than the Helldiver's. How's that for power per liter? Likewise, the Bugatti Veyron has a similar sized engine, and that one produces similar horsepower numbers. The difference in that comparison is the fact the Veyron has 4 turbochargers on its engine.

Rookie pilots often derided the plane because it was extremely hard to fly. Veteran pilots, however, found that once they could control the plane, it became capable of doing things that the less experienced fliers could not even dream of executing in the bomber. Likewise, the Smolensk requires an expert driver to even come close to the limits of the car itself. Even though the car contains a multitude of driver assists, no amateur can drive this beast the way it was meant to be driven. It takes a pair of skillful feet (and hands) to manipulate the throttle, brake, and the 7-speed dual-clutch manual transmission, but once this is done properly, the Helldiver is capable of amazing things.

One thing that the aeroplane was rightfully criticized for was its lack of handling. Luckily, this is one area where the Smolensk Helldiver is different from its namesake. The car will achieve 1.51g in the corners, making it one of best handling cars ever produced. Make no mistake, the car is not just meant to go in straight lines, it can go around the Automation Test Track in under two minutes, putting it in second place, right behind the ubiquitous Nightfury. And let's not forget, this car is not designed to be a track day car.

Inside the Helldiver is not a bare bones interior, but a high-end, lightweight luxury cockpit, finished in carbon fibre, aluminium and heavily bolstered Recaro seats comprised of the finest leather, and hand-tailored to meet each customers needs. The flat-bottom, racing inspired steering wheel has a Manettino dial to select the presence (or absence) of electronic aids. Both the interior and exterior are designed by TheTom, creator of some of the best looking cars in the world. One would expect a car of such speed to contain nothing but the bare-bones minimum of entertainment. Therefore, when you find that the car has one of the best infotainment systems in any car ever sold, you are in for quite a surprise. It contains a 20 speaker Naim audio system, the same one found in the ultra-luxurious Bentley Mulsanne. The multimedia display is adapted from BMW iDrive, and is refined to be a more intuitive system to control the functions of the car. Looking at this car and its lap times, you expect it to have nothing more than the legal requirements for safety. In reality, this car has one of the most advanced safety systems in a car on the road today. From its carbon fibre chassis, to its 12 airbags, the entire car is built to withstand the worst of crashes, whether on the race track or on the road. Even with all of these features, it is still only a few seconds slower than the fastest purpose-built racer, the Nightfury.

The Lafiya: "A realistic concept."

Ever since the release of the Vector, which proved to be a great success and has made a large impact in the automotive market since it's revealing earlier in the year, the team at CAG wanted to go bigger. Madder. Faster. Posher..?

Plans had already been going for quite some time to create a supercar, but the head of CAG - Aaron Cottam - his ambitions were altered. Instead of hastily throwing together a car with a lot of power and calling it a supercar, Aaron wanted to create a true masterpiece, no matter the cost and efforts required by his small team of designers. Aaron dreamed of being an artistic innovator in the car industry, someone who would go down in history for his efforts of class, and design ability.

Aaron's plan now strayed more towards a luxurious coupe than an unrefined supercar. And it was then that he put forward his message to the engine department at CAG. Aaron wanted this engine to have at least 1,000hp, and to last a decent amount of time, so that any man rich enough to buy it, didn't have to fuss about spending more time repairing it than driving it. The engine department toiled for an eternity. Constantly altering the heart of the engine, until everything was perfect. This is the kind of thing Aaron loved to see, and so he passed the same philosophy onto his design team, and they set to work on making a beautiful piece of automotive art.

As a trial run to see what CAG were capable of, Aaron instructed his team to produce just 1 car as a kind of.. Realistic concept.

And now we return to the present day (Ignore the fact that it was barely a few months since the Vector was made), and the finished product is here. Everyone closely linked with Cottam Auto Group is simply astonished at the result of all the hard work. CAG were certain that this machine would create not a big dent, but a crater in the automotive market. It was named the Lafiya. A translation of the word 'peace'. This name highlights Aaron Cottam's vision as to what this car is like. Peaceful. More peaceful than mental.

So, enough with all this back-story nonsense, it's time to see this thing! And I must say, it's looks are absolutely staggering!



The designers at CAG decided to go for an experimental approach for the styling of the fog lights, taillights and indicators. To give the car a more executive and modern look, an LED lighting system was used. The fact that this is the only Cottam model to use this form of lighting also gives the impression that this car is one-of-a-kind.


CAG's designers took much inspiration from Austrian-based manufacturer AMW, who are known for the innovation of LED lights. The light bulb was (Partly) invented by Thomas Edison, and now his invention is being taken to new levels by a new Thomas - Thomas Telsnig with AMW. (Hope you don't mind me using your real name TheTom )


Believe it or not, the design of this car was actually an elaboration of the design of the Cottam Vector, changed around to satisfy the cooling requirements of a 1,000hp engine. The lights were also dramatically changed to give the car a more expensive style. We want the driver to know they've succeeded in life when they're driving a car that looks as good as this.






The Lafyia is also aerodynamically shaped to allow the car to cut through the air, and to reduce shaking at high speeds. It also helps the car to look as fast as it is: Like a bullet.



Now. I know you are dying to see what powerplant controls this beast. It is whoever drives it!

Jokes aside, here is the engine designed completely from scratch, not based from anything else. It is made especially to be places in the Lafiya, and it is breathtaking.


The result is over 1,100hp, almost 1,400Nm of torque, and all in an engine that doesn't produce as much noise as the average hatchback! It's also a very smooth runner, which adds to the comfort of driving the Lafiya. There is do denying that the PWP-1K engine is an absolute gem, and an engine that will push the boundaries of the world's best manufacturers and will challenge others to try and match the standard of this luxurious powerhouse.

The Lafiya was such a great milestone for Aaron Cottam and Cottam Auto Group, and has really shown the abilities that the company can achieve. Aaron Cottam was so pleased with the company's efforts, he decided to put it into production instead of just keeping it as a successful design experiment. The plan was to produce 1 car for every member of the team, so 32 cars were to be produced altogether, all with a signed driver's headrest by Aaron Cottam himself. The car is not cheap though, a Lafiya will set you back £1.12 million. But trust us, it's worth it.

The Lafiya has as much heart and soul as you would ever need. This pays a true homage to the island in which CAG is based, and their love of speed. We even developed a cheesy slogan to represent the sheer class of the Lafiya!

Entering the Baltazar Photon Pinin Stradale



Based on the mental Photon Road-Racer, this improved version is a major step-ahead. The front styling was tweaked by Pinin-Wizzy-farina, hence the added Pinin denomination, while the new rear is a home based solution, in the search of fully representing the car's potential.

The inspiration for this car is speed in its purest form, thus the name Photon, which, being the carrier for all electromagnetic phenomena, thus being able at the speed of light, are the fastest things in the whole universe. The car is designed to look like it is flowing, moving effortlessly, like is was actually sculpted by the air moving around it.

This is the luxury version of the Photon Pinin, made for those who want to have a heart attack on their daily commute, which justifies the name Stradale, italian for road-going. It has a light-weight but still comfortable interior, with some sound proofing, great entertainment and the most advanced safety tech.

However, this adds weight, around 200 kg in relation to the Road-Racer version, but this isn't an issue since the car is powered by a 9.9 V8 with 1501 hp, with that power being spread to all four wheels by a 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The results of this are dramatic. The top-speed is 459 km/h, with 0-60 being dispatched in only 2.3 seconds. This car does the quarter-mile in less than 9 seconds, finishing with a trap speed of 285 km/h. Since it is designed for everyday use, the aero has been toned down, to achieve better acceleration, top speed and economy. But, if your are looking for cornering speed and a faster track car, you should check the Photon Pinin Road-Racer.





This is the pinnacle of the Baltazar line-up and to add to the prestige, it is very exclusive. Only 10 cars will be made every year, all sold by mere 2 million dollars, which is the equivalent of a Porsche 918 and 4 Ferraris 458, pocket money as you can see...

At the Ybarra Coach Builders HQ, an unusual E-mail arrived... claiming to be from someone of inmense power who has been admiring the company's work.. That Mail was inmediately sent to the boss Emanuel Ybarra. It turned out the mail was legit and this "President" as he insisted to be refered as: he commisioned a Job:

EY: "Alright. May I ask what do you want those holes for?"

Prez: "It would not be wise for me to say it to you but I can tell you 2 words: Spy Car"

EY: "I..... Think I know what are you talking about -wink-. One question though: How much are you willing to pay and wait for this car?"

Prez: "One Year from now and I will pay any amount that's necessary"

EY: "wonderful, we will keep in touch, I will start doing some sketches tomorrow"

Prez: "I have been looking at some of your sketched you sent me.. I quite like them, though I have a little request You see, My favourite car in my collection is my Citroen SM. Could you Give the car a similar treatment, I mean a long strip of headlights in the front?"

EY: "Sure it can be done"

The day after Mr Ybarra presented the final sketch of the car; Prez Loved it..

Meanwhile.. The custom engine has arrived and the Prez was Able to see it dyno tested: "All I could ever want" he said while his eyes were as wide as a kid during christmas.



Closer to the finish line, the body was presented. This time Prez was physically present to see it there, and pompous as he is he came in his gala outfit...

Prez's reaction was of joy, mixed with expectation, he could not contain himself and gave a bearhug to Emanuel Ybarra, who never saw it coming.

The day before deadline arrived: the finished car was put into a plane to be delivered to the enthusiastic costumer:



Prez Loved it: "Mister Ybarra... You will recieve your payment, A medal of Merit and as an extra you will always be welcome at home.."

Having delivered and completed the car..... Mr. Ybarra saw the chance to spend a few day exploring Prez's country...

Holy!! almost all of you wrote a book there!!!

Tajo 6.0 VTL (deluxe version). The name comes from a spanish river (the longest river on the iberian peninsula), another meaning would be cut/incision (not a little one).

The Tajo is a sport coupe but not that extreme given that the chassis is made in AHS Steel and the panels in aluminium. So to speak the Tajo would be a relatively affordable car, not only from the consumer point of view but the manufacturer too.
The interior quality is like any premium car out there, however the driver assists, entertaining and safety departments are fully equipped and in high quality.






As happens with chassis, the engine would be an all-rounder for the consumer and manufacturer.
The 6 litre V8 flatplane has been developed with cost and performance in mind but without forgetting the economy and reliability that inevitably the consumer will ask for.

In a totally different vein then our Brougham sedan comes the Python. It's an all steel (corrosion resistant) body and frame car sitting on a simple setup of McPherson struts up front and a solid rear axle support by coil springs out back. The engine is an aluminum block / iron head design pioneered by Centauri which maximizes power while still saving as much weight as possible, weight saving that was needed with this still over 400 kilo 7.3 liter DOHC twin turbo v8. It puts out 1030hp way up at 7200 rpms, however it's quick spooling turbos churn out its peak torque at a tire shredding 2900rpms all this is routed to the fat 335mm rear tires via a chunky and durable single clutch 5 speed gearbox. Dyno this car and you'll find an amazing 1000 horsepower make it to the wheels enough to light up the rear end up till 200kph once it hooks up however you've got grip right up until the engine runs out of steam at 250 mph. With an initial MSRP of only US$50,000 (not including $6500 gas guzzler tax) this car is the flagship trim of future pythons throughout the pricing range. This is not a luxury cruiser, or a show car. this is a beat on race the lights get into dirty and not wipe your feet weekend warrior, the interior is cheap the amenities spartan but the pedels are all you should need.

Certainly I won't make it an all out race. There's lots of variety, which is exactly what I was hoping for. There's a car for every price range, representing all kinds of categories, ranging from the sub 100k mad muscle car, to the themed supercars that resemble a Lamborghini prototype, to the luxury hypercars that cost close to or upwards of 1M, to the all out speed machines and racers, not to mention there are a couple of super sedans in the mix. I think we'll have to aim for a good mix, but I don't know the numbers yet.

What I'm interested in doing is drawing up graphs that compare the cars on a scale of price, speed, comfort, how fast it goes around a track... not to say that they determine what the best car is but to convey the experience each car brings. For this, I may also invite participants in this thread to do some brief writeups once the cars have been selected, but that too is also not a solid plan yet.
