Gearboxes Folder

What is the gearboxes folder for?

Is there going to be some form of gearbox designer in the game?

Not necessarily as elaborate as the engine or car designer, but at least just to set the configuration like number of gears, manual/auto, clutch type, and perhaps get into some materials for housing at least, then treat them like engines for a model. I don't think graphics are required, but it would nice nice. The ratio would still be set in the model designer.

Re: Gearboxes Folder

This probably is a remainder from the time the gearbox designer WAS in the game as a separate entity... a horrible choice for gameplay as it turned out, it's much better now :) so just ignore the folder, nothing to see here, move on! :P

Re: Gearboxes Folder

The way I figure, you could probably spend twice as much time mucking around with a gearbox, only to have it go terribly wrong and make a car being designed utterly worthless. It's one of those things worth dumbing down for the sake of not causing strokes.

True that! Way too much complicating for little to none of gameplay value for 95% of the players.

Re: Gearboxes Folder

Yeah, it just sucked. I mean I'm a much bigger car nerd than your average person and I still couldn't really enjoy a full gearbox designer (we tried it)
