Is that only for that certain car body, or does it apply to all turbo-engined cars?

I can tell you it happens on the CRX body also. I didn't really test a lot of others, since I really only use 3-4 bodies and practically none of them feature turbos.

The body of the photo is the '00 sedan with a longitudinal engine 4wd turbo.

Re: Build B1362+ Bugposting Thread

System:

AMD Phenom X6
Geforce GTX 760 (with latest drivers as of 6/25)
Screen resolution 2560x1600
Windows 7 64bit

When leaving the application (Alt+Tab) and coming back, the screen is "pushed" (and compressed) to the upper left corner with a resolution of ~ (trying to approximate here) 2200x800 and the lower half of the screen and the right 350 pixels being blank.
The cursor is visible and can move over the whole screen and the buttons activate (on the small image) when the cursor is on the right position on the big image. For example in the engine part of the game, the big blue Start button in the testing area is towards the center of the screen but the cursor needs to be close to the bottom right in order to be able to click on it. The game works if I can find the right location and after long tries I was able to get back to the start screen (the one with campaign, sandbox etc) and the image is still crooked. Countless window switching back and forth don't change.
Checking the "Screen Space Ambient Occlusion" changes the "crooked" image to a more square shape having ~1000x1000 pixels with the same behavior: I see a shrunk image while the mouse senses "the real image"

The Alt+Tab issue has been around for a long time and the devs are aware. But don't expect a fix very soon. :) Try playing in windowed mode to avoid the bug.

Re: Build B1362+ Bugposting Thread

I have a bug where the engine thumbnail is displaying 59k MTBF, while the engine testing shows only 41k MTBF and the car model is showing 66k MTBF. During testing, the car was meant to exceed 60k and I know I only saved the engine after the 60k had been exceeded. Could you check out what the issue is if I pm the car files?

Re: Build B1362+ Bugposting Thread

The MTBF figure in the model designer is different to the one displayed in the engine designer, because in the model designer, cooling capacity is also calculated to determine the true lifespan of the engine, and it would mostly appear as larger than the figure in the model designer. It's all normal.

Re: Build B1362+ Bugposting Thread

Its confusing because I'm absolutely sure that the engine had an MTBF of 66k... Perhaps the data for the engine inside the model is slightly different?

The testing shows an issue with the turbocharger, which is already at plus 15 quality. However, when reducing the value to -15, the MTBF goes up to 60k. That's what makes it feel like a glitch.

Re: Build B1362+ Bugposting Thread

When building the engine outside of the context of a car, the cooling capacity is assumed to be 100 kW/L, so you lose MTBF when you're beyond that. If it's the other way around: the car having lower cooling capacity than the engine, the engine MTBF suffers. If the engine has 100000 km MTBF and requires 100 kJ/s cooling, then at 50 kJ/s cooling air flow from the car the MTBF will be significantly lower, 50000 km if it's still linear.

Re: Build B1362+ Bugposting Thread

There seems to be a glitch in frame material. I noticed it when building a 1977 car. Selecting ladder frame and galvanized steel then switching to monocoque it highlights corrosion resistant steel and the stat display text goes white, happens the same when going from monocoque to ladder. It some times gives a string error when going to test and the platform weight is off.

The game is not reading my engine file. I've attached it here so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated as I was tweaking this engine.

What exactly happens? Does it just not show up on your list of engines? Is it stored in the correct folder? (Documents/Automation/Engines)

That engine file looks really messed up, I don't think you will be able to recover the engine.

Re: Build B1362+ Bugposting Thread

This model can't get to test runs...
First I made the platform (Quadlingo), and then Engine, then fine tune it and save with other name. mount tuned-edition engine (D4F-C1) and tried to test run and BOOM, the game crashes with error dialog(see the screenshot). :?
My PC environment:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with SP1 applied, core-i7 3770 3.4GHz, nVidia Geforce GTX 670 2048MB, 8GB RAM, 1TB HD

Hope it fixed in next version, thanks.

Re: Build B1362+ Bugposting Thread

Here's today's live chat :

[19:22] <Kev2442> Hi there, can I make a small bug report here ? (too small for a topic of its own)
[19:23] <Kev2442> Anyone here ?
[19:25] <Kev2442> Well, I'll just leave it here :
[19:25] <Kev2442> I tried saving a platform with least info
[19:26] <Kev2442> and it warned when not enough stuff until suspension settings
[19:26] <Kev2442> when I tried to save without setting a body panel
[19:26] <Kev2442> it crashed
[19:27] <WizzyThaMan> that doesnt make sense :P
[19:27] <Kev2442> I know, that's what beta-testing is for :
[19:27] <Kev2442> :D*
[19:27] <WizzyThaMan> no but the way you wrote it down
[19:27] <WizzyThaMan> saving a platform with "least info"?
[19:28] <Kev2442> I tried saving a platform with the least things set up
[19:28] <WizzyThaMan> oh ok
[19:28] <Kev2442> basically, I started a new chassis
[19:28] <Kev2442> and tried to save with each change
[19:29] <Kev2442> up to suspension settings it warns "You must select X"
[19:29] <Kev2442> but it doesn't after the suspension settings
[19:29] <Kev2442> so I set a rear axle
[19:29] <Kev2442> tried to save without setting a body panel
[19:30] <Kev2442> and it crashed with a "try again/cancel" message
[19:30] <Kev2442> I tried again and it passed the message
[19:30] <Kev2442> so I went on to quit and select the saved platform
[19:31] <Kev2442> and when closing the window it showed the message again
[19:31] <Kev2442> this time I clicked "cancel"
[19:31] <Kev2442> and I came back to desktop
[19:31] <Kev2442> that's all folks !
[19:32] <Nexxus> I'd give it it's own thread, it seems quite major to me, just in case someone accidentally triggers it.
[19:32] <Kev2442> I just tried rebooting the game and it failed, gotta erase the saved file :p
[19:32] <Nexxus> Then again, I'm not a beta tester, so I wouldn't know.
[19:32] <Nexxus> Aye, that is a bit major.
[19:32] <Kev2442> I'll do so. Thanks for the tip.

Hope you can find something, it's quite dumb and easy to reproduce, so it may be already found.
