New line from Normandy Automotive.

After a year of development, NA has finally released the successor to its famous Delta, super car.

Introducing the Echo. The SR1 model comes with a 4.0L DOHC Crossplane V8 Producing 418HP to a 6-speed double clutch AWD gearbox with 0-62 time of 3.2S and a topspeed of 204 MPH.
While, the more powerful SR2 model comes with a 40.L DOHC Turbocharged Crossplane V8 producing 784HP to a 6-speed double clutch gearbox, with a 0-62 Time of 2.8s and a topspeed of 210 MPH

As you can see, the aerodynamics of this vehicle are superb, designed to move air in, around and through the body.

Re: New line from Normandy Automotive.

The front end looks great, all of the elements cleanly integrate themselves into the overall look of the car. I also really like the low-profile vents just behind the doors. The back however, is not quite as terrific. While the fixtures themselves are quite well designed, the lip in the back gives it a distinctly boxy appearance that does not seem to flow smoothly with the rest of the styling. You might want to add some exhaust pipes, that V8 needs somewhere to dump its CO2 :) .

There is custom exhausts under the door hinges. I just take crappy screen shots.

Re: New line from Normandy Automotive.

Until the team create a kind of wing that isn't just a straight and can mold to the shape of the boot, this is the best I could do. I made the lip much smaller and less obvious, and tweaked the tail lights and vents, added a third set of tail lights, and added more obvious exhausts. All in all, it should help reduce the "boxiness".

Still looks a bit... odd. Can you take a screenshot from a rear 3/4 look?

Re: New line from Normandy Automotive.

It must be so frustrating that the only limitation on such a great design is the game itself  . The front end (to me) looks like a combination of the old WRX STi and the new Camry. Somehow, that combination results in a very good looking car. It is truly a case where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Was the resemblance to those two cars intentional?

No it wasn't. I had no idea there even was a resemblence. I just slap parts on there and see what fits.

Tried to do something with the CRX body. Don't think it worked out well thought. But hey, racing stripes.

Re: New line from Normandy Automotive.

You have tremendous talent working with the front ends of cars. I haven't seen a single front end of any of your cars I don't like.

I must say that I feel somewhat underwhelmed by the back ends, though. They seem put together in a cursory manner while the front looks like it took a lot of time and attention. I would like to see some more attention being put into the rear of the cars. One thing I do like about the back ends of the cars is that you are using the lines of the car itself to your advantage. This is a good technique but I would encourage you to do more with that.

Re: New line from Normandy Automotive.

I too find it more difficult to work with back ends than front ends, mainly because I get frustrated with my inability to shape the back as much as I can the front. Part of the reason for that is because most mass produced road going cars don't have all that much variety when it comes to back ends, so making exotic stuff becomes much harder.
