Re: The official AMW thread

Alright, guys. Today comes something you might have been waiting for. AMW's first true hypercar.
While, admittedly, my cars aren't really "normal", most of them could actually be produced. They all appeal to a certain kind of customer. This time, however, i wanted to build something i haven't build before. And you know, i've built fast cars before. I've built very fast cars before. But i've never built something
utterly terrifying.
It's called the Peregrine because my coupes are named after birds and the peregrine is the fastest bird on earth.
It's not a performance car in the sense of creating the fastest lap times. That's what race cars do.
There will only be a limited number of peregrines. The number of cars that will be sold is equal to the number of horsepower it has. Don't worry, it's not 300 or 500 or 750. It's 2230.

As pretty much any hyper car, it's made from carbon fibre. That means it's not very cheap. It will cost you 1.2 million € because of all the engine man hours, the performance it makes and the fact that this car can beat the crap out of a Veyron Supersport or an Agera R, both of which aren't necessarily cheap either.

The peregrine is the first car to achieve one of my biggest personal goals in this game. I've had this goal for quite some time but my engines weren't good enough so i asked my buddies Jakgoe and strop for some help. Thanks, guys! :) However, the final engine is 100% built by me. It's a 7587cc twin-turbo V8 with 2230hp and 2598Nm of torque. The big goal i was aiming for and which i also achieved was:

500km/h

To be precise, it actually does 509km/h. Want proof? Here's a screenshot of its top speed on the AMW testing straight which is exactly 5km long.
Image

At this point, you guys probably want to know what it looks like, don't you?
Image Image

While i may admit that the front is polarising as always (or even more so), i think the back is rather pretty, isn't it? It's not as crazy as other hypercars' back ends, but i was thinking "most people won't see the front of it regardless, so if they only see it from behind, i'm gonna try and give them a nice view".

As said, only 2230 will be made and they cost 1.2 million € each. You guys on the forum are the only ones that can have the platform for free :) And ordering one in this thread won't cost you anything either. You may choose the colour you want, you can have all colours that the game currently offers.

Tom

Re: The official AMW thread

Hey guys! I just edited the previous post because the Peregrine now gets an all new 7.5L TT V8 instead of the 6.6L. Here's a pic of the engine and its stats (F*ck GreenPeace xD)

The results of this engine are in the previous post!

In terms of raw speed, that is an utterly terrifying car.

Re: The official AMW thread

Indeed! I mean, a Bugatti Veyron for example takes about 19 seconds to go from 0-300km/h. The Peregrine takes under 8 seconds to reach 300, and about 13 seconds to reach 400km/h. And when was the last time someone thought a Veyron was slow? :D

Re: The official AMW thread

Alright, guys. This post is gonna be divided into three sections and the first two will be very short: a general question, an announcement and then some new designs.

I've seen that some people have downloaded platforms from this thread. To those who did, how do you like them? Would you like to order one? What engine and what colour would you like?

Now for the announcement:
AMW builds custom engines. If you'd like one, write a post which contains info on what kind of engine you want (e.g. sporty/eco/low-end/high-end etc.) and about how many horsepower it should have.
We also tune cars. So if you're unhappy with how your car looks or performs, we can change that!

With that said, i'd like to go on by showing you guys the new design for the Sparrow and the Puma! :)
Here's the Sparrow:

And here's the Puma:

I admit, the V-shaped LEDs are inspired by the Lamorghini Huracan. And yes, i also admit that they look better on the Lambo. But still, i wanted to try it out and i'm quite satisfied with the result nonetheless.

Here are the stats:
Image
Image

The engine is still the same 2.0L I4T with 275hp and pretty good fuel economy. The Sparrow will take care of the Alfa 4c and the Toyota GT86 and all its equivalents, whereas the Puma will fight the Subaru WRX and the Mercedes CLA.
The colours you can have are:
white, black, midnight blue, royal blue (as shown), yellow, mint green and red

Also, stay tuned for the HP versions :)

PS: Check out the post about the Peregrine! I fiddled with the quality sliders, allowing for even faster acceleration, higher top speed and positive downforce. Now at least you don't have to be scared of taking off anymore :D

Re: The official AMW thread

holy Batman how did I miss the Peregrine. That thing will fly. Unfortunately, it might literally do that going down the Mulsanne straight  but this small detail aside, it would be so satisfying to belt it down the Ehra-Lessein high speed track or somesuch.

I'm also very impressed with the 0-100 time of 2.2s. With an 8 speed gearbox putting power to all four wheels naturally it would be quick but I see you've had the foresight to make the wheels wide enough to cope! That said, I would love to know a few things, like: what's the tameness penalty for wheelspin? (or in more Australian terms: how awesome a burnout does this car do?) Also, how much interior, entertainment and safety did you put in this car? Because I ran a quick test hypothetically modifying my Mephisto to do 500, and it's about 300kg lighter...

Thanks Keimo :) If you want, you can order one. Just tell me what model you're interested in, what colour and what engine you would like. I'll send you the finished model via PM!

Thanks strop! Firstly, it's not going to take off because it does produce positive downforce. There's no lift that could make the car take off. :) Also, i think the Peregrine will be super good for the SSCC, a 90 mile race on american highways that takes place once a year.
The tameness penalty for wheelspin is -4.0% with traction and stability control on. Turn them off, and you'll get -16.2% to make a massive burnout ;)
On the interior, i went for 2 seats, superlight interior, no sound insulation, no entertainment but all driver aids except launch control, and advanced safety options. The safety features make quite a big difference i think, given the fact that it's a big car shell. Also, the engine in the Peregrine is a 7.5L which will be heavier than the Mephisto's 6.8L.

Greets,
Tom

Re: The official AMW thread

I don't think you'd be terrified to drive anything other than the Peregrine (and maybe the Dragonfly) because everything else is made everyday usable, even the Eagle HP. :) Personally, i would love to drive a Sparrow because it's just that light and nimble RWD sports car everyone wants, but it's also practical and easy to drive.

Re: The official AMW thread

I figured it out: Most of the weight comes from the drivetrain due to the extra torque! You probably have at least another 100kg in there on top of what I had. But that may actually have been helpful in putting the weight onto the wheels!

I do love the creativity you have put into making the features on your cars. The way you have mixed parts is fantastic.

Re: The official AMW thread

Sorry i haven't been uploading sooner, but i had way too much to do in real life. Much more than i had originally expected. Also, i now have beta testing to do, as well as Alpha testing in another game (an awesome racing game which i can clearly recommend downloading as soon as it's out, it will be free!!) But now i finally have the time to post the Sparrow HP and the Puma HP! :)

The Sparrow HP is up first:
Image Image

And here's the Puma HP:
Image Image

As you can see, the aesthetics have changed quite a lot, compared to the previous generation. However, the engine is still the same 2.5L I4T with 375hp that will beat the hell out of their rivals. The Sparrow HP's rivals are Porsche Cayman S (which admittedly is a tough opponent) as well as the BMW M235i, and the Puma HP's main rivals are the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG and the Subaru WRX Sti.
Here's the stats:
Image
Image

The price for this performance and practicality is 50.000€. That's about as much as most of these cars' rivals, but about 10.000€ less than the CLA 45 AMG which will be successfully beaten by the Puma HP.
I'll send you the platform files and you can choose your colour yourself and preorder if you like it :)

Tom
