I don't know what I'm doing! ...Or maybe I do!

But, after a day or so of tinkering, I made this. Design year is 1970, and it's slightly Mustang-inspired.
Behold!

EDIT: And, here's the engine.

Edit 2: Here it is with a similar engine that's designed for lower service costs, as well as to be a bit more "eco-friendly" (ha)

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Phew, the thread title was a bit misleading.

The car looks good for its time, but the engine seems a tiny bit too expensive, but that's just my opinion. If it was me, I would drop the cost to about $1000. Other than that, a solid engine and car overall!

This one cuts about $100 from the initial cost, over 20 man-hours of work time, and ~$700 from maintenance. Changing the block and head materials to iron from aluminium would save another $150 on materials, but that would push the weight up over 640 pounds.

Edit: Pic of "budget" engine used in the second car

Agreed, this is very solid as a sports car from 1970! The design is perfectly good too.

But of course you'll eventually find ways to experiment and express yourself more fully as you get more experience with the design tool.

Gotta say, nice looking car you've made!
The engine has a nice horsepower-torque ratio too.

Hey, Since you are talking 70's in here I figured i would share one of my most recent 70's Designs with you. The 70's was all about size.. and im sure this one would live up to the name and beat out the competition.

This is my Pegasus Raptor.

Great-looking car!
In the meantime, I decided to branch out and make a modern supercar.
