So lets clear the "what types" confusion

I can understand why many folks would want semis (tractors), motorcycles, etc but to clear up what types of vehicles will be in the game I thought I would ask. I THINK the 'styles' and 'types' that will be included with the game include
2 door- Sedan, Hardtop, Convertible, Hatchback, SUV (like the Blazer)
4 door-Sedan, Hardtop, (maybe even with suicide rear doors????), Station Wagons, Hatchbacks, SUVs, Crossovers, and maybe limos (they would fit into the 'luxury' market well)
Pickups (dual and quad (crew cab) door) with single and dually rear axle.

meaning no 2 wheels, heavy (industrial) equipment, farm machinery, big rigs (semis/tractor trailers), etc. "Think GM or Volkswagen", yet there is 1 odd ball that hasn't been brought up yet (I don't think).... The Reliant Robin. 3 wheels and is a car, but not at the same time lol

Re: So lets clear the "what types" confusion

You can actually do "suicide doors" now. Just put the handle on the opposite end of the door. I have not seen anything about "stretch limousines", but a "Town Car" style could be done. It's just a fancy sedan. The rest of your list looks about right, though I'm not sure I've seen any mention of "dualies" either. I actually can't remember if pickups were even included. There's a thread on here by a user and another by a mod which outlines pretty much what will be and what is out of the question. I'll try to find it here in a bit.

Oh, and hahaha on the Reliant Robin!!!!

Pickups will be in, but the dualies...I'm not sure, it would mean more UI space needed, and Killrob already complains it's cramped...

There is a topic like this already: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4069

Maybe you an ask the topicstarter to add it in, so we have a good selection of stuff all in 1 post?

I would say yes, If the 2 door sedan has the exact same silhouette as the 4 door. i.e. all they have done is put less doors on.

IMO the 2 door does not deserve the coupe tag, it really needs more styling around the C pillar and roofline to justify it. One definition of a coupe is that there should be no C pillar, only A and B with frameless doors. It seems that a coupe is whatever the manufacturer can get away with. VW produce the Passat CC, which stands for Comfort Coupe and that is a 4 door, albeit sleeker than the standard Passat.

(FYI for those unfamiliar with the above car and would like to know, it is an Opel Corsa A / Vauxhall Nova, produced from 1982 to 1993, it also came in 3 & 5 door hatchbacks)

there is alot of confusion about what a 2 door sedan, hardtop, and coupe are. Here is how I understand it.
A 2 door sedan has the same roof line as a 4 door sedan with a B pillar (pillar behind the front door) with all side windows that ROLL down.
A 2 door hardtop has a lower roof line then a sedan roof and most noticeably have no B pillar (with all side windows down can run hand from vent window to C pillar (last pillar on roof)
A 2 door coupe sometimes shares a roof with other models, but also can have their own (think Mustang fast back). Coupes 1/4 windows (windows behind front door) sometimes are fixed and don't roll down, some do, and some just pop out a bit for ventilation.

Easiest way to see the difference is to look at a 1957 Chevy for example. Search for a 57 chevy 2 door sedan, then a 2 door hardtop (notice the lower roof on the hardtop, and lack of B pillar). Then search for a 68 Mustang fastback and notice how different the roof in from the sedan and hardtop. Coupe roofs tend to be specific to the model where as the other 2 tend to (used to) be used on 4 door and 2 door models. I am unsure if actual coupe bodies have been tried with 4 doors (would look very dicey at best)

Then you have torpedo backs as some call them which I think were made in hardtop style but mostly sedan roof lines in the mid 40s to the early 50s. Check out pictures of 1948 Chevy, Buick, Pontiac, or Oldsmobile torpedo and you will see what I mean. That I think is where the coupes of the 60s and 70s got their inspiration. 8-)
