But at least other (Made by AI companies) cars should have fins if this is popular. Just for to be there  . Also, what if we made car with original look and it will become legendary or very popular? Do other companies will try to make similar cars? Cause that how it would work in real.

Honestly I don't imagine AI cars to even have much in the way of any fixtures on their cars except pre-scripted ones to allow for fixtures to cool the engines.

I'm sure there was mention that AI players would have a bank of pre-designed cars to chose from.

I probably missed it. It's pretty unlikely to have custom AI-made cars with fixtures though is all I'm saying. I would HATE to code that! :P

That sir, is an UNDERSTATEMENT :P

Pre-scripted is the way to go really. Kubastach, you cant make a computer recognize what is pretty or not. When they design their own cars, they will do weird things if you dont code them properly. Having AI cars make proper cars would add 6 months of developing easily. They are better off making a database of 1000 cars for the computer to choose from.

So lets say it's will be later  . Maybe as expansion?

Well, I do understand what it generally takes to code stuff with games, considering years ago when I helped beta-test a mod for UT2004, as well as mod the mod post release (and before I stopped playing the game, actually trying to implement my own custom weapons into that weapon mod's system), and have coded a fairly simple Pokémon battle simulator... thinking back on it, I could probably make the AI far more advanced and quite the hard opponent in that...

Programming is fun!.. when you don't type one thing wrong and end up with 210 errors because of how interconnected to a lot of different systems that one line is.

As someone said:
Well, fixing bugs is going pretty well, we even made a song!:
99 bugs in code, 99 bugs in code
fix one then, run it again
104 bugs in code

And then, after all the testing and fool proofing, one of your users straightaway does something stupid that you never thought anyone would contemplate doing and breaks your lovingly crafted code.

That's why it's even harder to program AI: AI just starts to bang its head against the walls of the Matrix because it didn't anticipate playing against a user doing something THAT off-the-wall. And then it gives up and users see AI that does nothing and the users complain about it!

I too, program quite often. But just to have a laugh about it, this sometime REALLY does apply:
Image

ONTOPIC: AI programming is really hard to do properly, not even talking about self learning AI or in this case, making the AI DESIGN things that look PRETTY to us humans.
No... its hard already and I doubt someone could easily make such code work without completely breaking the game or something.

Re: Future Body Design add ons to include lots of chrome?

Another possible solution (albeit one that could be quite difficult to implement) could be one where players can upload car designs to a central database and then the game randomly picks from this every time you start a new game, that way there would be new cars every time you played? If any of you have played Spore *gasps are heard as he says this word* then its a similar idea to that.

Good idea, hard to implement in a good way, but not undo-able. Especially for tycoon and multiplayer AI this would be good :)
